Is anyone here for dating?? Everyone is LONLEY. No one can find the person they are looking for...Is anyone really trying? Or just waiting for Mr. or Miss right to fall out of the sky?

Effort people...If you can't put some effort into getting to know a person then what's going to happen when your actually in a relationship? Realationships are not that easy...It all give and take. Sometimes giving comes with a little sacrafice.

Which brings me to the point (I do have a point). Put a little effort into getting to know someone on here. If there is even a slight interest....Most poeple will not open up right away...Do You? Talk for a while...see who they really are before you move on to the next Miss or Mr. Right.......

Umm, geographically a challenge for me to date anyone on this site..so nope not here for dating.

I am not LONELY..at all..ever..I can have a ball in a wet paper bag alone...often alone, never lonely.

I haven't had an anyone Right fall out of the sky, and hadn't planned on waiting around to see if they do...so nope not me for that either.

Effort? Yep agree with you there...Relationships are easy..people make them difficult...I have great relationships with my kids, my friends, my ex...

As to your point? I am an open book, what you read is what you get, consistently the same, and I know many here, ( that I met on another site) for almost a year now...that's a long time to keep up a facade...so nope..open book here.

Okkkkkkkkkkkkk Mike I checked out your profile.. i see you have 23 FRIENDS on your list.. how many of the 23 have you asked out ?? in the cyber field that is.. ask them questions.. and SHOULD you find one that REALLY peaks your interest.. what would you do then???
we all ... or most of us do.. have a job or responsiblities... that would prevent a cross the continent move or visit for that matter... me Im an open book. too

Well said Jess!! There sure is alot of looooooonely folks on here!

I came here to meet some ladies and make some dates.
But I found a group of people who SEEMED more like friends than looking for dating. So I stopped looking for dates, and just went with getting to know the members and to meet new members.
This place here to me,,,has been ANYTHING,,,but a dating only site.
To get to know these people here is to open your heart to EVERY possible life situration that could inflict it self on you..

Its like a day time soap,,,,BUT YOUR REALLY LIVING IT...
ITS like COPS, but its happening next door.
Its like Jerry Springer, and they want your advice..
Its like the Dating Game, and you pick the questions.
Its like AMERICAN IDOL, and you get to place your vote.


So, ya see Mike, TO ME, its alot MORE than just a dating site.
A place where friends can talk, smiles can be made and felt.

Mike, I agree completely. The problem is that, no matter how much effort you put into meeting someone here, it's pretty much wasted if they won't even acknowledge your existence.

I have come to realize that, for whatever reason, I just happen to be living in a specific geographic "pocket of resistance," where the local JSH girls simply have no interest in talking to me. There's nothing I can do about that if they won't respond to e-mails.

That's why I'm not here so much anymore -- this is a great site for making friends, and there are a number of girls who have said they would like to get to know me better, but, of course, they are all writing from the safety of 897,000 miles away.

I got an e-mail this morning from a long-time regular, someone who has been here longer than me, someone whose post count makes mine look like a newbie (!), and she said something that totally summed up my JSH experience:

"Site's great people are great, just ya know eh some of us just can't seem to find what we are looking for."

Succinct and accurate.

I love JSH, and I'm glad it works for some people. Clearly, it doesn't work for me though. Your mileage may vary.

it is hard to find someone close
every once in awhile i tell myself i am going to leave the site
because of that reason, but i can not because of my friends!!!

we have a plethora of 'excuses' in the bag as to why NOT to do something.. too far.. not enough time/money.. etc..

but if we DON'T take the bull by the horns and just reach out and say HI to someone..well.. we COULD be missing out on something GREAT.. you never really know WHO'S behind the typed words until you delve a lil deeper into their psyche

iam4u.....I have seen your posts and comments on here....Your a good man......I agree it is entertaining...Like interactive tv....I just see so many people saying how lonley they are, But they've built a wall so High that just saying Hi to them is an insult...and then the other lonley ones want to get married right away........It is a big complex world on here I agree...Most of you that just commented are not the ones That I was talking to.........They probably won't post a response here, But they can at least read it...........

Z -- EXACTLY!! On the e-mail thing -- I occasionally used to send "Welcome to the site" e-mails to new people I saw popping up in the local search results. One of the things that I would always tell them was about the forums and how it helps to post and get to be known, and a number of them would then start posting (albeit briefly), but not ONE ever had the courtesy to respond to any of my e-mails.

I don't even bother anymore.

It is certainly different on other sites....granted, most of those places have increased whacko-nutjob-to-normal-people ratios, but at least the whacko-nutjobs will write back....!!

like yerself lex I've sent out a HI to someone I thought Interesting or someone from the 'hood' and MOST read them.. then NOTHING.. WHO CARES if I'm NOT YOUR DATING TYPE.. I could be even BETTER..
