Why Peru?? I've traveled & lived outside the US for years. The hardest things are language barriers, do you speak Spanish? If not, then you will always be standing around wondering what people are saying.

Get a passport, get a visa, make sure you have plenty of money or a good job, cause folks in Peru aren't gonna support you and your baby.

Might try Costa Rica. Heard a lot of people from the U.S. are going there.
