MCERT FROM MICROSOFT http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
KASPERSKY FROM http://www.kaspersky.com/virus-scanner NORTON http://us.norton.com/nortonlive/free-pc-checkup.jsp or https://security.symantec.com/NSS/GetNSS.aspx RUN Chkdsk/r on your next restart from your command prompt or from tools on your C Drive. after running usual virus check programs, I use Wise PC Engineer on deep cleaning for both files and computer cleans. CCleaner with most all boxes checked except wipe free drive space (shows me when i'm hacked esp. when using Norton) on the registry cleaner as things were removed that should not have been, then I simply reset defaults or change security to Kaspersky 2013 works ok~ Be clean 1.4 is an old one but keeps it clean hit man pro will find some things on free download if all else fails rewrite your OS. And start over fresh. after checking for remotes in your computer management console... You can always call BestBuy or OfficeDepot as well. |

its a scam... just roll it back to a time before it, and it will be fine... mine did that once with an FBI warning just like that, and mine has been fine since i rolled it back....

I had something like this once, and undid the damage by pressing Ctrl-Shift-Esc and looking at the list of running processes. Then I stopped the one that looked unfamiliar.
Actually, the advice above, about reverting to a previous safe point, is probably a better idea. I lucked out because I knew which processes should be running, and could easily spot the new one, but in your case, you may not, and those things often use the name of a usually-safe process, anyway. Good luck and stop clicking on every link you find. |

Okay, y'all, I solved that by reinstalling Windows. Now I need to know how to keep my puter "awake". I'm running a Carbonite restore, and even though I set Windows not to sleep/shutdown/etc overnight, itgoes to sleep whilst I'm sleeping, forcing me to start Carbonite all over. What's a guy to do?

Go to Power Options in control panel, then click on advanced settings, scroll down for sleep, click the plus sign, and make sure both sleep, and hibernate are set to Never(shows when trying to select 0) |
