I'm wondering how much emphasis you guys put on the way a person's voice sounds? Given that we "meet" through emails/IMs/on the forums, when you do move to the phone has their voice changed the amount of attraction you had towards them?

No, their voice is always fine some high some low, its there
FACE that really makes me run fast.......lol...lolbigsmile

But it is through a voice that I can tell how they are or would be in person. The laugh, the questions, there passions..

What about their personality? Has the way they speak conflict with the way you thought their online personality was like?

hmmmmm

I like to hear someones voice.... its more of a soldification of who the person is.... As for online personality... so far the people i have spoken to, their personality is their personality

 Yes, with some. I think them to be soft spoken and shy,
then talk on the phone to them and they are like John Waynes.
But soft and sexy is a GREAT voice to have or use,,,wink, lol

When talking in emails, you get a feel for their personality,
and you have a voice in your head that makes you THINK, they would TALK that away, But then when you hear them over the phone,,,,SOME can scare the hell out of ya,,lol
By yelling ,,and NOT knowing they were,,,and by breathing into their phones while they speak, and their personalities will reflect a different person that you thought......

I think any voice would be ok- as long as it does'nt give you that feeling of fingernails running down a chalkboard...

i learn a lot over the phone... whether they call alone or with a lot of people in the room, whether they talk clearly or muffled, loud or quiet, whether they have an accent, a speech impediment, or a lisp.

it all fits into the picture and gives you a better sense of what's going on. have i ever been turned off by their voice? yup. it's usually the really quiet ones where you can't hear a word they say, and they always get really angry and defensive when you tell em to speak up, and quiet back down again in a few seconds.

While I've never actually given this much thought before, I have to say there was one person I talked to where his voice totally turned me off, I can't even explain why. But, it wasn't enough to make me say forget the whole thing, but the initial attraction level did go down. We never did get together, but it wasn't for that reason.

No even tho I have talked to some on here that after thro e-mails and IM then on the phone. I will admit that some of the voices totaly amazed me were I thought some would be have a deeper voice instead there voice was real soft spoken. Or the other way around it is amazing that at times our voices don't fit to the T what we think they will be like.

hehehehe Of course I tell all I don't have an accent no southern drawl lmao for some reason no one wants to believe me lol Can't figure for the life of me why can ya'll? laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

But regardless does not change the image I have of them or what I think of them just makes them so much more real to me. Ya know we got this thing were we have to reach out and touch someone lol bigsmile laugh

Have you ever noticed how someone can "look like thier voice"

There is only one exception to this ~ not sure what I expected him to sound like, but definitely not like he does !!!!

i don't put much into the sound of their voice but it is interesting to talk to a person after nothing but emails and IM's. you really get a feel for their personality that i don't think you can get just by email.

Everyone I have spoken with by phone sounds like them...exactly how I imagined they would...sometimes the accents threw me a little, but not the tonal depth, and the inflections.
