justice does sometimes get it wrong. that I am well aware of myself, but I am not certain they did this time. It will be up to the Justice Dept to decide that now. They will no doubt go strictly by the book. when a man of one race kills a man of another race, it can be racism but it is not always. it can be a crime or it can be self defense. this will be up to the Justice Dept now.

Unfortunately most folk simply cannot be impartial and our justice system requires complete objectivity, fortunately. Sentiment and mob mentality (from either side) simply cannot be permitted to hold sway.

I'm sure you agree. Neither can our own past esperiences cloud our judgement, but for most of us they do. That is why the law has impartiality written into it and we are judged by a jury with strict rules, and not a mob.

I think it is good that the justice dept is taking a second look, but that is no guarantee of a mistrial.....but I fully believe their decision should be accepted. w/e it is.

I agree with all of the above, but I would not want or expect a mistrial, (although there was confusion about the manslaughter charge which never was cleared up for the jurors)

but I do want legal culpability for this unarmed childs death,,,,even in a civil trial which would only require a preponderance of evidence,,,

this is the problem with your bias thinking. zimmerman was found innocent. that means that martin's death was not zimmerman's fault. legal culpability falls on martin because of the self defense exercised by zimmerman. when all those people that didn't vote to re-elect obama wanted to keep trying to oust him, you said for them to accept it. now you won't accept the outcome of a fair and legal trial. put yourself in zimmerman's shoes. how many trials would you like to go through

msharmony:

"but I do want legal culpability for this unarmed child's death...."

Unarmed? He had two perfectly good arms. His left and his right. And he used them to assault Zimmerman against the sidewalk.

Child? He was six foot 11" and 158 pounds. --he was on drugs -- not really a "child" except 'legally' age wise.

Culpability? As esebuldog said, the culpability falls on Martin. This was decided in a court of Law that Zimmerman was acting in self defense.

People have a right to defend themselves...even against so-called "children." (and I thank God for that)

please don't be condescending

in no other trial would fists be considered 'armed' . or no altercation could involve any 'unarmed' victim

he had the right to use his arms in defense every bit as much as z had to use his gun

even more if he was the one assaulted first,,,,

he was a child jeann,, he had just turned 17 and he was f vie foot 11 158 pounds

for legal purpose he was not an ADULT and therefore a child,,,

as for culpability, it should fall on the stalker who tries to accost and then shoots a child dead,,,,for fighting back

all people don't hve the right to defend themselves apparently,, especially if they fit the description and their killer has some official 'authority' assigned to them,,,

and that terrifies and saddens me

You exaggerate as bad as the Media when you call Z a "stalker." He was captain of the neighborhood watch NOT A "STALKER."

A child is someone 12 and under. Travon was a young adult or a teen, or a juvenile--- not a "child.

Your use of terms like "child" and "stalker" are very biased and manipulative. You are good at propaganda, but not good at argument.

I doubt if he would get any 'children' discounts for being a "child."

The evidence says that Travon was the attacker, NOT Z.

The Jury says that it was self defense.

I'm sorry you are saddened by the verdict, but you need to accept it and let it go instead of being a member of the mob.

It was a tragedy, but you are seeking revenge, not real justice. Z had a fair trial. He probably should not have even been arrested and tried but he was.

The lynch mob got what they wanted..... an arrest and a fair trial.

Or maybe they didn't really want a fair trial. ?? Maybe they just wanted a lynching.!! It sounds like that's what they wanted. They had him convicted before the trial, and before they even heard the facts or evidence and they (and you) can't seem to let that go.

I liked what this guy said:

"for zimmerman, and everyone else, it's innocent until proven guilty. the fact that some people have tried him before the trial and continue to call for his blood after the trial doesn't change the fact he is innocent of the murder charge. he may or may not be guilty of other things "

So this thread has run its course and at least I am done with it and sick of hearing complaints from the lynch mob.

Its over.

yep its over, and the unarmed teen is dead , while the adult stalker in the name of neighborhood watch in a neighborhood whose name he didn't even know still walks free, believing like many of his minions that his actions in following this boy and trying to detain him were not justification for the boy to fight while the boys busting his nose was justification for him to shoot him dead

but, Im done with it too,,

whatever helps people sleep at night

karma doesn't forget,,,,,,

hopefully they have better luck in a civil trial
he should be held legally culpable for the events leading to the death of an unarmed minor,,,,

I ask again....What about Bradley Manning, the young hero who exposed the atrocities permitted by this administration on the citizens of foreign countries who is being persecuted quietly while the DOJ and Obozo keep the racial fires burning over this circus?

Where is the media, the outrage, the good people so upset with injustice?

What a joke!

Scream injustice for a violent banger and sleep while a hero is being persecuted!

How proud you all must be of yourselves!

keep asking it

maybe you can persuade others that an unarmed teen being KILLED in the neighborhood he was going to reside in by the NEIGHBORHOOD WATCHMEN who is supposed to be protecting members of the neighborhood,,,

is the same as a person breaking their employment contract,,,,and facing the consequences they agreed to for such an offense,,,
