I very rarely email first. If I see a post or profile that really makes me go WOW!, I'll send an email to tell that person how what they said affected me, positively or negatively. I don't think I've ever sent a one word email, or just a smiley. I'm wordy, in case you hadn't noticed.



By now I EXPECT it to be an unintelligible 6 word sentence that usually implies instant love by a guy from a country I've never heard of that's ten zillion miles away.

E.G., "do luv plz hot tikkils msg" from a dude in Gtjansdtokpvxnistan



Simple. Reciprocation. I don't like being the one that has to always keep the conversation going. Needs to be a back and forth, easy flowing exchange of hopefully amusing and intelligent discourse.

I used to just tell them that I liked their profile and would they like to chat but that's lame and I don't even reply to messages like that myself anymore, unless it's to ask them what it is that they liked about my profile.

So yeah, it depends on what's on the profile and if there's nothing there apart from "Hi" and "I'll tell you later" and maybe some pictures I don't bother. I do tend to write quite long emails but I'm not going to do that with the first one because it's a waste of time if they don't reply. I will basically try to be polite but I don't enjoy getting one liner messages back and when that happens I tend to lose interest at that point and that's the end of that.

If it's someone from the forums I already know them and what sort of thing to expect from them but sometimes things come out in PM conversations that I don't like and I've blocked a couple of women on here for what I consider to be rudeness. You aren't going to get on with everybody and I am very open about myself, so I guess that I am opening myself up to criticism and perhaps trying to find out if I'm talking to a judgmental person that I wouldn't get on with.

And oh yeah, I ask them what size bra they wear of course.
