and I believe people want to do what they want to do,, all the while claiming a hatred and distrust and meddling of government while demanding the government get involved in advocating for their sexual choices,,,,
They don't want government to "get involved in advocating for their sexual choices." Where on earth do you get that idea? They simply want EQUAL RIGHTS under the law for their children, their taxes, their property and everything else that is afforded to opposite sex couples. renaming it would be a great indicator of that extreme change too,,, to emphasize this great 'civil rights' issue,,, government should, IMHO,, be in the business of civil unions,,,,with no consideration to sexual activity, between whatever adults wish to enter into one and everyone will then feel they are being afforded 'equal rights' That kind of change may take a while. |

I don't happen to believe its just about 'rights'
that's my opinion I believe its about forcing society to condone their sexual behavior,,,and make it 'equal' to heterosexual behavior,,, but perhaps marriage is on the chopping board eventually with government, and we can address making sure every adult can adopt children, create children, and enter into civil unions with each other,,,, so its all 'equal' |

Why would you think it forces YOU to "condone" their behavior? Do you feel like they are trying to take away your religious beliefs? Don't you know that you can still be repulsed and condemn them as much as you want anyway? Now you can condemn the people who voted to pass the laws. Condemn away, no body cares. |

Honestly a good number of gay people don't care if you condone it or not. Some of us just want to be given the same rights as other humans have. I'd like to know that my significant other will be cared for when I am gone, I'd also like to know that my family members will not be able to remove him from my hospital room in the event that I am hospitalized.
If you don't condone gay marriage that's not our issue, most of my christian friends support me, some don't but they don't say anything either because i am not christian so they feel that it's not their business. Gay people are looking for the same things in a marriage that others are looking for, spending their life with the person they love and want to be with. As I have said before, if you don;t like gay marriage, then don't get one. Simple as that. |

Littering? That effects the environment and everyone who has to see it. Public indecency? What the hell does that have to do with gay marriage? Okay, I will say this then.... if you don't like the fact that the law in some states is giving equal rights to legally married gay couples then I will JUST say TOUGH!! To bad. That's too bad. If it was voted on by the majority of people who vote, then its the law, and there is not much you can do about it. If the law extends basic human rights to someone you happen to disagree with, you will not be able to deny them their rights. You will have to get used to it, and you will probably have to endure people who criticize your opinions, but one thing you will not be able to do is deny the legal rights to a gay couple provided to them under the law. Nobody is asking for your approval of what they do in their bedroom. Nobody is forcing you to accept their lifestyle. I don't know where you get that idea. |
