Topic: Bad gifts in a relationship | |
---|---|
My boyfriend bought me some expensive razors as a gift. Not for a birthday or anything mind you. It was a just because. I took that as "you are a hairy beast" even though I shave everyday. He explained it was because I had cut my leg on some dollar store razors very badly and he didn't want that to happen again. How would you have taken it?

Not sure if I would like to get it for a birthday or such but, as a just because gift...I do not think it a bad thing for him to care about you cutting yourself on a cheap razor. Men are often romantic in ways that women might not find all that romantic. But to me I would rather get well thought but kind of weird/silly, than a cheap last minute piece of jewelry...it shows the guy is actually thinking about you in a personal way.

I would have loved it, just because he had thought about something I need.
My ex used to give me money every birthday and christmas to buy what i wanted I would rather get the razors at least it shows he cares and can be bothered. |

I take it you realized he had been paying attention to your needs and cares enough to help keep you safe. |

I would rather get gifts like flowers, jewelry, dinner out or nice gift cards etc. |

I'd be happy with the expensive razors and the caring and thoughtfulness.

Be grateful you've got someone looking out for you. Unless he bought the more expensive razors because they're sharper and he's hoping that you'll shave your skin off. |

He is very empathetic and compassionate. He considers u thru out the day and reflects on things u guys talk about. At least he actually bought u a gift. I was with a guy 2 and 1/2 yrs and he bought me flowers twice. I can count on one hand how many times he took me out anywhere and how many things he bought me. I would be so happy for a box of razors from my guy especially if I told him the one I had caused a minor injury. trust me, that's a good thing. |
