Im new to the site. Recently separated from a 12 year relationship and wondering if these site even work. Im not looking to jump into something after 12 years im a bit reserved and more so looking to talk to people.

Do they work? Well yes, they do. While I never met anyone on here I did manage to run across someone who compliments me quite well and we've been seeing each other for a rather long time. I ended up meeting her on another site but out of respect for mingle I won't say anything more about that. You just need to give it a chance, get to know people, take your time with it, and try not to get wrapped up in any craziness that frequents all areas of the net.

First day on here today, I spoke to a lovely lady, half the world away, for eight hours straight! We swapped pics, email and now are Skypeing each other!

Lightning struck twice here for me.

I did develop a major crush on someone here (won't reveal his username as I don't want to embarrass him), but haven't seen him recently. I guess the only thing that could really stop me wanting a relationship with someone from Mingle, is if it's someone whose relationship has been very public in the forums. As I'd already remember how they were, during the relationship, and after it. So if you get a feel of what they were like, and their behaviour puts you off, you know you'd never want a relationship with them. If they behaved in a decent way, I'd feel okay about having a relationship with said person. Wherever it may happen, once you find someone who knocks you off your feet, do everything you can to keep them. That type is like finding pure gold ;)
