Topic: WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON ONLINE DATING??? | |

It's fine.
Just take caution in what you believe. Most pretenders are easy to spot. Others are not. Never trust 100% until you are 100% certain that they are not a pretender or a Mountain Dew stealing alien. Trust maybe around 15-20% at first so you don't fall completely into a trap. Look around. Dig for & gather intelligence. Evaluate it. Once you are certain that it's safe gradually over time increase your trust by 5%. The internet is a dangerous world filled with tricks and traps. Just like life. You need to think quick and outside the box to survive. |

i think online dating is great, especially since i am mostly working and when i am done, i just want to sleep. Online dating lets me approach dating in a more quick and comfortable way. so for me, it is wonderful.

Oh Yes!, I know this well. The first thing a scammer wants to do is get you off the site and onto either private email or chat. Avoid this where possible. I feel for you, It can be a devastating experience.

It works (well not for me right now. the number of woman on here from my city is like 9 i think, no replies yet) but I think it's a case by case situation. persistence probably plays a big part. never give up!

Oh wow am I naive. I got a random IM tonight from a woman supposedly from Oklahoma. She gave me her email address and I gave her mine. She said she "wanted to get to know me better" because it would be easier off the site. She emailed me once and asked if it was my correct email addy and I responded.
I was skeptical from the beginning though because she is a knockout (well 'her' picture is beautiful) and thought "wtf is she showing interest in me for?" I should have figured! Lesson learned, lol. |

Tht doesn't mean she's a scammer unless she asks for sth else |
