Although the definition is more applied to "Marriage"
I believe that it also applies to relations and courtship
So which do you prefer ?
And do you let that person KNOW when you are being "Friends" ?

I prefer a monogamous typs of friendship
Where we are BOTH secure in our feelings toward one another to also have "Just friends " as well...
I do like a few of the ladies in here
But because of "misunderstandings"
I am reluctant to say specifically WHO
I like my feelings to be reciprocated feelings
But maybe this is what is lacking with YOU and your desire as well ?
So tell us ?

Monogamy or being "exclusive" with one person once your relationship gets to an intimate level

I'm not sure that I follow you. Why the scare quotes around "just friends"? If you mean seeing somebody and she's also seeing somebody else, then no, I'm not into that and don't think that it's cool. She's either my girlfriend or she isn't.

As far as the rest of it goes, if I'm interested in a woman I let her know and screw the misunderstandings. But probably not on a public forum.

anything sexual is gonna have to be monogamous,, Im just not taking all the extra risks that third, fourth, fifth parties and all their partners contribute to the equation

nor does it continue to feel like a 'special bond' if it is something my partner is sharing so freely with others,,,,

Wel, ya know, the only thing wrong with polygamy
is that it seems to only cover men, what if the
woman wants more than one husband?
Just saying :-)

I wouldn't even date someone who was seeing someone else.
Or carrying a torch from the past.
Life is too short.

And having fun being friends
I agree what is good for the Goose is good for the Gander
Smothering is an entirely different matter...

What are monogamous friendships? If you're just friends, why worry about whether they have other friends. Sounds like you're actually talking about dating instead? If I'm friends with someone, that's completely different than dating.

Anyway, in the beginning I think it's fine to date more than one person as long as everyone is honest. But that's just the beginning. Once you start dating more seriously, definitely monogamy.

Thank you Sing and friends become dates become lovers
It is a part of courtship
If you don't let someone know you are interested in monogamy with them
then how is one to know right ?
Or if they express such feelings and are rejected
Should they still hold those feelings for you ?

flowerforyou

I do not want to make this about "ME"
Just wondered what everyone thinks in general...
And i am very secure in who I am
Thanks folks !

You didn't explain what a monogamous friendship is, though. You're talking about before you are dating someone, so how do you expect them to be monogamous already?

If the Op doesn't want to explain what monogamous friendship means, perhaps someone else can?

"Monogamous types of friends"
Sounds so casual, yet serious, the statement s an oxymoron!

If I was going to take the relationships to the monogamous stage, which would &
Should always be a giant step, then it would be prediscust beforehand that our
intentions would be to share our lives together.
most everyone just skips those first two stages of a relationship and goes
strait in to the monogamy stage, without getting to know each another.
I myself have also be guilty of this, but will not enter this stage unless there's
No major problems & we remain very compatible.

Would people enter this stage knowing that there's problems or realy not knowing
or knowing that your not going to spend the rest af time with this person?
