I was more naive, happier, healthier, less stressed, more interested in learning for learning sake, less aware of time passing,,,

I think friends would be surprised that Im not a 'professional' of some sort by this point, I was always ahead in school and graduated at 16, I was considered top of the class, not nerdy but smart and lots of potential,,,,

I really took it for granted and let too much time pass without acting upon the potential,,,,

I can relate to that, except for graduating at 17, rather than 16. And the fact that I was nerdy and knew it. I'm still nerdy, and trying to make a profession out of *that*. laugh

What were you like in the past? (Compared to today?)...Did your life take a lot of twists and turns along the way?.. Do you think that friends you knew in grammar school or high school would be surprised at who you are today? And surprised at how your life turned-out? Just curious...

People would be surprised by how I turned out. I was fairly introverted, to the point where people thought I was shy. I was even voted "Shyest" in my Senior class polls. I wasn't shy, I was just quiet and minded my own business.

These days, I do public speaking engagements several times a month. And I quite enjoy what I do. So I think people that knew me would be surprised if they saw me now.

I was shy and studious in grammar school. (For the most part.)..But all hell broke loose when I entered high school...My parents sent me to a snooty and snobby Catholic girl's academy..I gave some of the nuns a bad time and questioned everything. The dean "asked me to leave" in the middle of my junior year...Later in life I put myself through college and became a serious student again...But I never stopped questioning things... I just became a little more mellow and "diplomatic" through the years.

I'm night and day from the person I used to be. I've been working out four days a week for the past year and it's made a huge difference in how I feel and obviously how I look. My ex saw me a couple weeks ago and came right up and hugged me. She said, "You look great!" I hugged her, then she hugged me again and it's a good thing we were in a public place because you could tell we were both thinking the same thing, lol.

Anyway, I've also made a lot of personal progress. I know I have God to thank for all of this, because if it wasn't for Him I would have slid off this twisted coil a long time ago. In the past year I've had to face a lot of things about myself. They weren't pretty, but it was good for me to see what I had to change and work on.

I have more friends now and I've noticed women noticing me more than ever before so there must be some obvious positive changes. My buddy said to me the other day, "You're not as gruffy as you used to be." I said, "Cool. I must be hiding it well then." We both laughed.

I smile more now than I used to, which is a good thing. Plus I started going to this great church where there's a lot of friendly folks to fellowship with. Plus I like to get involved in helping people and there's always plenty of that to do.

Yep, definitely a change for the better :)

Personality wise I'm not much different, but I did not become a universally renound prima ballerina afterall. Most of my old school friends would be shocked to learn it....shhh, no need to upset them.

Quieter, calmer, more even tempered. Still as determined, with different goals. Show my faith more.

My outlook and attitude hasn't changed much. I'm still who I was at sixteen. Just taller. I like to watch comedy a lot. I will laugh at most funny stuff, providing it's not them usual jokes that people think you never heard, when you heard them from many before. laugh. I can only stand so many "Man walks into a bar........." jokes. I prefer a unique-ness to someone's humor. Then it's more likely to make me laugh.

Big difference for sure. In my youth a rebel, hard drinking, hard partying youngman. Now mellow, reserved, enjoying the small thing in life, I like where I am now.

In the past I did not believe in myself and thought I wasn't intelligant in anyway. I started taking classes in college studying engineering. Started my career at 23 year old. Now at 41 I feel confident in myself and enjoying a fantastic career in engineering. Never thought I could do it.

I was about the same. I tended to keep to myself for the most part.
