I'm not usually suspicious of anything, unless something gives me a good reason to be. Here's why I feel freaked out. I started talking to someone on a chat forum, and I never give private details about my life, until I get to know a person. This particular person wishes me Happy Birthday on my actual birthday. I have never told him when my birthday is. As I haven't got to know him all that well. I'm sure this would freak ANYONE out? Yesterday, I told my mum all about it, to see what she thought of it, she told me to keep her updated about it. Why would someone I don't even know, know when my birthday is? Just for added info, whenever he talks to me over private e-mails or me and other members on the public forum, some things he says just seem very off. But it's always as if he has a personal gripe with me for some reason. I wish I could explain it better. He just seems very wishy-washy with his words. Like he will say stuff that comes across as over-the-top, or he would always arrange meet-ups and then cancel at the last minute. I don't think I want to stay in contact with him. He is just too dodgy for his own good. We got talking about video-gaming, and I guess we got chatting from that alone.

If he knows your real name he can find out your birthday. If he's dodgy think he might be married.

Don't forget I've seen a pic of you and I think a man would be happy to meet you, even if you are British! j/k

I don't know about other email providers, but if you have yahoo email, you have to set your personal information to private if you don't want it to show up on your yahoo profile.

seems to me like some people make it their biz to KNOW as much shocking info on a person as they can dih up
SHOCK factor maybe ?
But yeah ...THAT is a little freaky to me as well
I could tell you some real strange stuff like that
That I have encountered in my online adventures...
And the reason i put my REAL name and info out here now...
Is from such similar events
BE CAREFUL !

sounds like he background checked you or google searched you. He may be wanting to meet and checking to see of you are real. some simply try to pinpoint a location so they know you are not a scammer from another country. Or if they say they are frm Texas and the phone is in NJ??? that kind of thing. But by doing so, other information becomes available.

It is the easiest thing in the world for someone to
look up your stats online, they probably don't
think twice about it.

Even looking up your usernames can render specifics.
It is the nature of online.

This may have spooked you into second-guessing.
Why not ask how he knew?

All depends on what site your on. Facebook tells everyone what your Birthday is. Even this site automatically changes your age for you. If they had really noticed what your age was then it changed they would know. Just saying........

But.....it all depends on how much more they seem to know about you. Then be blunt and ask them how they know certain things... Could be and old bf/gf that knew you were on a certain site.

good points

important also I think to remember that there is a PM system on here and peeps could be obtaining information from others on here who've known you longer from here

just like how you'd get your best friend to find out where the cute boy in HS that you liked lived? back in the daylaugh

I do, most of the time. It made me curious to know how he got hold of my details, so thought I'd see if anyone on here might know how.

If he knows my real name you say, ah, so, he must know my full name then. It has to be someone who knows my full name? Got it ;)
