I think it was scripted for this one to leave the stage (right on cue). According to "prophecy", the next pope will preside over the destruction of (the city of) Rome. "In the extreme persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit [i.e., as bishop]. Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations: and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the terrible judge will judge his people. It's my opinion that there's another shoe to drop. Nobody gives up a gig that sweet with out a damn good reason. I don't think so. He never wanted to be Pope, he wanted to retire years ago. I think he is finally at the point where he is just worn out and can't go anymore.
