romantic? or lame?

I would enjoy receiving a heart felt poem. Really its nice. When younger I've written a few put lot of thought into them.and the few people that received them i felt genuine about them. A real deserved poem is a good thing to receive.

Depends on when it is given and why. If it is too early in the relationship it may come off as being lame, or just another come on type line. Knowing the right time to release those feeling thru poetry to your mate is just as important as what you say.

I really like what both charlie and toxic have said. They understand the true value of sharing ones heart and when.

Love is a word that is used too casually. But in terms of poetry, it is a form of art, it speaks to the inner soul.

I like it when a person expresses themselves well.
The form doesn't matter as much as the meaning and intent.
Honesty seems most important to me...
Catch my intention... and I'll do my best to learn/realize your way of communicating.

When I must think I write.
When I write I express.
When I express I better understand.
When I better understand I can better act.
When I act I am prepared.
When I am prepared I am able.
When I am able I can succeed.
When I can succeed I am willing.
When I am willing I can share.
When I can share I am happy.
When I am happy I am complete.

Poetry is my self expression.
My writing is my clarity.
Without it I am lost!

If I can't win a smile or touch a heart with my words, my actions will never have audience.
