I'd advise to just get rid of everything that would trigger you to think about her. Just keep yourself busy! Hang with friends do stuff you like try out new things and make awesome new memories.

Finding someone awesome on mingle would help too ;p

What he said.

Or drink heavily and listen to Elliott Smith. That's my method. (It's worked terribly)

imagine she is dead, dead in the ground rotting away, seems stupid but it works, do that a couple of hundred times and you will be over her for good, do not think anything else but she is DEAD in a wooden or whatever box in the ground, rotting away

Personally... I remove every single solitary item from my presence that the bum ... I mean, the guy ever gave me.

Then... make sure to delete his phone numbers...work, office and parents house!

You'll be over him/ her in no time!

Go out and start talking to other people ASAP. Women are not an endangered species.

Step back take a deep breath and regroup.Everybody goes through this. If you feel its her fault concentrate on making better choices. If you feel its your fault learn from your mistakes. Go out have some fun, Hey its good to be alive brother!

The suggestions are mostly good advice on here....except the whole alcohol and dead ones....bit much guys...lol

I have found that keeping busy, having friends who are there to help you work through it helps, and always, learn from whatever mistakes you made and she made, and look for someone who is nothing like her.

I agree.
Plenty others to search through out there.

^ this - I am so allergic to anyone who reminds me of my ex that it's an automatic disqualifier - not all for my exes just one of them

I don't worry too much about it other than that...basically if a few days go by & I don't hear from him, I 'll call. If I go to VM I lv a msg. If I don't hear back in 24 -48 all bets are off - I figure I'm free to roam

and do

If you really, really, REALLY want her back again, then now is better than later, to try to win her back. You have quite a small window of opportunity though, because the longer you leave it, the more she'll believe you just want to move on without her. Otherwise, keep in mind, the reason you broke up with her. Only remember the bad points about her. This can help you get over them more quickly.

It's hard; most people that move on quick are those that jump into another relationship and that isn't good.

I do agree with most that you just need to be social again. Get out there and meet people and have fun.

Almost all of us romanticize what we had into thinking it's this magical thing and we miss it so. Many times in reality it wasn't so magical and if it was, obviously it wasn't magical to one person or you'd still be together. Just deal with the reality, remember the good times and dont' dwell and move on.
