If all he does is smoke a bowl to sleep what is worst than him taking sleeping pills? Pot works better. Its all a matter of context. If a person is functional on a drug that is one thing. But when they are not they are a problem. I am not condoning GENERALIZED consumption. I prefer pot to alcohol. It is the one thing that stabilizes me. My high is your normal. I don't get "High" like most people do. I am hyperactive as in wound for sound with energy levels that are off the scale some times in the wrong ways.

If we were talking Blow (Cocaine), Crank (Methamphetamine), horse AKA Smack (Heroin), and other hard core pharmaceuticals there would be a problem. Pot does not turn a person into a thieving, dependent, needy, scheming street trash.

The 4:20 culture is like drinkers except we don't get stupid, fight, and get into property damage.

What is the real issue is you have standards that now meet something that challenges them and what you know. Be wary entering a world of drug culture. Not all drug cultures are the same. MOST of them are not about love or anything other than thrill seeking in a suicidal way! Really, if 4:20 is his only thing he can't be all that bad unless he is some twisted sadistic serial killer.

Normal seems irrelevant. I don't think it's terribly unhealthy, which would probably be the primary concern.

Weed also smells better than cigarettes.

Every night seems to be a bit much. Then again, I don't smoke at all. I don't have problems with those who do, but I'd rather not have to smell it. If that's part of the issue, maybe see if he'll smoke it somewhere that's not around you, so you don't have to deal with the smell?

A lot of people have a few drinks at the end of the day to relax. I see it no different except that it is safer and people who smoke are more docile then drinkers. It's now legal in Washington and Colorado, at least at the state level

Well, it is a bit different if you're with other people, as they have to smell and breath in what you're smoking. When you're drinking around other people, you're not forcing them to drink what you're drinking.

True, but pot smokers don't have to smoke around others. They can take their pipe or bong outside. IMO it's not that bad a smell anyway

You are correct. They can smoke elsewhere, as I mentioned in a previous post. As I said, I don't have a problem with pot smokers. I don't like the smell, though.

You may be one of the few like me who WANT to do something on it! Not sit down and be wasted on it.

I think you have to come to terms with it, convince him to stop (not gonna happen), or book...

The guy holds a great job, is clean, neat, and not out robbing banks or anything, so what's the problem?

If his pot smoking bothers you, leave.
