You don't think it's cruel that it's god's will that some women get pregnant via rape? Sorry, but that sounds like a pretty evil god to me.

Sing.
I figure that God's will post is only one persons opinion.
Violence against women is permitted in only one religion at present. That be Islam. Men are rarely convicted of raping Muslim women. Dat's da' facts, maam.

This guy wasn't a Muslim, though. Islam isn't his religion. He's a Christian Republican. I've heard that he was just espousing basic Christian belief.

as I said before, childre are a gift, however they are conceived

many batterd wives have children wih men that have battered them, nd those children are gifts too,,

many terrible things happen to people, rape happens that doesnt end in pregnancy,,,,,and the notion of Gods will is an endless debate I am not going to have

but pregnancy is Gods choice, and Gods gift is the life we each have that starts out in our mothers womb,,,

Women’s bodies are yet again at the axis of the 2012 election season. All it took was an Indiana Republican Senate candidate saying aloud what many evangelical anti-abortion activists seem to believe—that a pregnancy resulting from a rape is “something God intended to happen.”

When asked if he was sorry, Richard Mourdock demurred. “I spoke from my heart. And speaking from my heart, speaking from the deepest level of my faith, I would not apologize,” he said.

First there was Akin....now Mourdock.

as a woman, and a rape survivor, I happen to believe all pregnancies are Gods intention as well

not necessarily all the ways in which pregnancies occur, becuase I believe the body is a vessel for the soul and pregnancy is the way souls enter the world

smh...

Got to shake my head on this one too..

Indiana senate candidate...Republican...Richard Mourdock says this, "Pregnancies resulting from rape are God's will."...Shocking, disappointingly stupid, inappropriate...An affront to human dignity, an affront to christians, an affront to women...
Mourdock says his belief stems from faith, DEEP faith....I call bullchit...
If, as a christian, you believe all life is a sacred gift from God, how do you justify exploiting God's will in the political arena for self serving reasons?...On second thought, how does any so called christian justify exploiting the word of God for any reason?...frustrated

thats a good question

another one is when and how do we determine the difference between sharing and exploiting,,,?

Not saying that his (Mr Murdock's) wording is correct, but...

Mr Murdock may have a DEEP faith in God,

that those who have ears to hear

may read God's Word for themselves

and come away realizing the fact

that babies don't deserve to be murdered

because they were conceived in chaotic circumstances.

I am questioning Mourdock's depth of faith AND his understanding of faith because he contradicts himself...Nothing wrong with that Cerise...If you're going to talk the talk, please walk the walk...

I assume pointing out that the Bible standard is to only count a child who is one month old or older as a person; that it advocates killing pregnant women, etc. Chapter and Verse? Nah, if Xians cannot even follow what Jesus taught, I assume that would be pointless.

Well it is kinda in the bible that woman is supposed to submit. But I think they are taking it a bit far.

You know if it is unborn the right wing is all about protecting it (using "it" as I hear the right wingers sound when they speak of them) but once born they couldn't care less about it. It is usually considered punishment for having sex at that point. Who cares if it eats, gets schooled, get healthcare, etc....

So yea, if you were unfortunate enough to raise that penis then suffer the consequences you nasty wench....noway

I think that is taken out of context, as far as I Remember

the bible only requires SPOUSES to submit to each other (man to his wife and woman to her husband)

I dont think anywhere does the bible suggest women should submit to any and all men,,,

Okay good, then I will shoot them if they try anything.

Isn't most of that from the Old Testament?

I don't think Christians should pay any attention to any of that. It's old Hebrew law.
