I was thinking god is not only evil but very twisted. I suppose its also god's intention to have the woman beaten and left for dead too? And people wonder why I became an atheist.

You just quoted from Mohammed.

He's down with raping women, babies, boys and donkeys.

He also advises men to give dey womens a good whoopin' to keep 'em in line.

You wouldn't want to cover yourself up and join the clan?

Nope; I would rather kick some clan butt. bigsmile

Great woman!!
Hope your like is going well.

No; its not going well but I suppose it could be worse.

Women’s bodies are yet again at the axis of the 2012 election season. All it took was an Indiana Republican Senate candidate saying aloud what many evangelical anti-abortion activists seem to believe—that a pregnancy resulting from a rape is “something God intended to happen.”

When asked if he was sorry, Richard Mourdock demurred. “I spoke from my heart. And speaking from my heart, speaking from the deepest level of my faith, I would not apologize,” he said.

First there was Akin....now Mourdock.

Well it is kinda in the bible that woman is supposed to submit. But I think they are taking it a bit far.

You know if it is unborn the right wing is all about protecting it (using "it" as I hear the right wingers sound when they speak of them) but once born they couldn't care less about it. It is usually considered punishment for having sex at that point. Who cares if it eats, gets schooled, get healthcare, etc....

So yea, if you were unfortunate enough to raise that penis then suffer the consequences you nasty wench....noway

Men and women are both raped in this world. However I do not feel Im inclined to make decisions on others bodies, nor make choices at the ballot box.Everyone walks in different paths at different times in life I am but just one man.

The title to this thread,

"Rape something God intended.....", is misleading and untrue.

God does NOT intend for women to be raped!

as a woman, and a rape survivor, I happen to believe all pregnancies are Gods intention as well

not necessarily all the ways in which pregnancies occur, becuase I believe the body is a vessel for the soul and pregnancy is the way souls enter the world

What I think when I hear someone say that pregnancy from rape is what god intended is that they think god wanted certain women to be raped. Is your god really that evil?

no, I just think that we are all gifts, regardless of how we are conceived,,,

and I think God intends us to be gifts as well, regardless of how we enter the world,,,,

the RAPE is not Gods will, it is man forcing will upon man

but LIFE is Gods will,,,it is totally determined by nature/God

It's God's will for people to starve to death daily too? God's will to have people murdered? God's will does not exist, c'mon people, it's the 21st century! Stop hiding behind this smokescreen!

life is totally up to God,, starving, murdering,,, are not

they are determined by mans will

a pregnancy happens through sex, but only when God allows it, regardless of mans will to cause it,,,

theres a difference,,,,

I think that is taken out of context, as far as I Remember

the bible only requires SPOUSES to submit to each other (man to his wife and woman to her husband)

I dont think anywhere does the bible suggest women should submit to any and all men,,,

Codes of conduct are a foundation of any orderly or peaceful society.

Often the Bible gets a bad rap...
many of the mentioned codes of conduct are seen by readers as ...
extreme laws but are simply appropriate behavior in a group or community.

Almost like stopping at a red light or at a stop sign.

There will always be those who want to penalize or condemn others who break protocol...
or on the flip side, there are those who will protest the fact that the code exists.

Then form a special interest group around it.

If pregnancy from rape is something god intended, as Richard Mourdock has stated, then that would mean god intended the woman to get pregnant in that manner, which is horrible.

but if it were, that is how life works,, good things come from bad

I think thats not cruel at all

You don't think it's cruel that it's god's will that some women get pregnant via rape? Sorry, but that sounds like a pretty evil god to me.

smh...

Got to shake my head on this one too..

Indiana senate candidate...Republican...Richard Mourdock says this, "Pregnancies resulting from rape are God's will."...Shocking, disappointingly stupid, inappropriate...An affront to human dignity, an affront to christians, an affront to women...
Mourdock says his belief stems from faith, DEEP faith....I call bullchit...
If, as a christian, you believe all life is a sacred gift from God, how do you justify exploiting God's will in the political arena for self serving reasons?...On second thought, how does any so called christian justify exploiting the word of God for any reason?...frustrated
