You may not be very important to some one but it doesn't mean you are not important. You are also important! Why do you feel yourself important?

That is a very nice thing to say. I wrote a book similar to that theory, you may suck at hockey but you might rule at soccer.....everyone is important somehow and has different talents than their peers. If you hang around the wrong people you will get the wrong perception of yourself because they won't appreciate you. But we are all important to someone special.

I don't feel important; I just exist and that does not make me important.

I am totally important to the people who love me - as they are to me. I must be at least a little important at work cause they sure get unhappy when I call off. We are all important in some ways, many more ways than most of us think about. Being important doesn't necessarily mean being good at something or things but having skills we can use and share does count for self esteem, giving back and paying it forward.

Well everyone here has been important to me, even the ones I don't know. Posting in these forums have helped me get through a long 3 year divorce....After being married for 13 years it was hard being alone with no companion. but true my kids are present but sometimes I needed to have adult conversations and not be dating. SO THERE> You all important to me. Even the strangers who participated in the forums i posted in.

No doubt the president of my country is more important but I am more important to my * * * * * The president won't come to help/solve day to day problem/routine work.

The more we face the problem the more we learn about the life!

If you don't feel important, stop paying your bills for a few weeks and you will soon see how important you really are.

IMHO I may not be important in some grand way but it the little ways, the little needs people have I think my value adds up.

The remark the person said about not paying bills is true. You do find out how much people depend on their little piece of you adds to their stream.

Like in here if you don't post what are we all going to do for input? It adds up.

Sometimes we don't know how important we are for others ; once we realise it we get some great purpose of living.

I could probably declare myself "non-important" because my entire family passed-away and I am all alone now. (My husband and both my sons passed-away. And pretty much everyone else in my family died too.)...I could take everything "personally." I could internalize all the deaths as a sign that I wasn't very important to my loved ones...I'm not saying that I've never had these types of feelings. (Grief involves working-through a whole gamut of thoughts and feelings and emotions!)...But I know it's not healthy for me to base my worth and value on "who is here" and "who isn't" and "stop there!"...I've always felt that it was my job to gain a sense of my own "worth" whether I'm in a love relationship or not. (Whether I'm surrounded by friends or not!)...And whether I'm accomplishing "major things" in life or not! (Etc.)...I try to stay modest and humble. I don't want to get a "puffed-up head" about anything I do or don't do in life. But I don't want to "shortchange" or "downgrade" myself either... I don't want to be mean and unfair to myself when I know "darn-well" that I deserve a pat on the back for facing my fears or working day and night to finish a job etc.. How do you feel about it? Thanks!

No one needs me and I don't want to be needed; so that is not going to make me feel important.

I get motivated & feel a little bit morè important.
