I know I have been reported. Sometimes by folks who just don't like my style. ANd, after a couple suspensions, I learned not to call names.laugh laugh

I have also reported trolls, scammers and fake profiles.

Th PC BS, IMO, is just that.

Eventually, we will not only lose our freedom of expression, forums like this will be forced to monitor and suspend anyone who posts anything that goes against prescribed guidelines.

I might catch hell for this one but, WTH.

One pet peeve I have is, and this is unverifiable and I have no direct proof of it, it just feels like, there are cases of selective enforcement of the rules.

If there are rules and anyone breaks them, bias or favoritism should have no part in rule enforcement.

Again. My statements are just my opinion and based on no fact.

My opinion met with your opinion and agrees. :D

Hehehe.,....I gotta laugh when I think about my mingle rap sheet.....it has to be longer than my.....ahem...it is pretty long.

Just kidding....I am so pure and wholesome that I doubt that either mods or administration even knows I exist .

Sorry, cannot buy the 'bias' aspect.
Everything is held up against the Rules.
ANYthing in question (and, not in question
issues are logged and read by us all)
whatsoever is discussed among the Mods,
just to screen out any blemish of bias.

Oversight is at hand also, if you disagree with
anything a Mod hands down, you can take it a
step higher, to Mark.

Everything we do is held up to scrutiny, but
if something seems unfair to you,
holler up about it :-)

Close to Topic, I have never seen anyone take
as much crap as MsHarmony has, all in silence,
no retaliation.
Most mature poster around.

Ya know as long as I have been here and been a mod I have to agree with what Soufiehere said. And that is not being Bias due to I have never interacted with msharmony on the forums or in e-mails...Just read the responses that have been thrown to her yet she never makes it personal...I will say this for sure I myself could not have brushed off some of the responses she has endured.

So if the award went out for the most Mature Poster I would say it was hands down on that subject...

It just surprises me at times those that seems to cost most of the problems are the first one to yell wolf!noway

I know that sometimes I can not control myself and things just come flying out of my mouth. The last time, it was someone whose tag line was about a certain football team going to the Superbowl and I had to e-mail them about their rich fantasy life. I really do try not to do such things, but late at night.... Otherwise, I try to debate only with facts and I really work hard on biting my tongue when I read posts that demonstrate a level of prejudice and ignorance that is absolutely outlandish in this day and age.

And I do want to give kudos to Ms Harmony. She once posted that she thought psychology caused mental illness and as I do that for a living, I got a little hot under the collar. However, that woman is just so gosh darn nice I could not get mad at her.

While I think it's good to have moderators to keep the site running smoothly, sometimes it seems the site is a bit over moderated. I tend not to report people, as I feel we're adults and can handle more.

But, the report function is good for when someone follows you around and just doesn't let up.

As a mature adult you would think that, but then once you're the one making and enforcing rules, or offering something that people can abuse so easily, you realize how childish adults can be.

Also, it's not always about if someone offends you personally, it's sometimes just about keeping the site clean and safe.

I'm not saying that adults can't be childish or abuse rules. It definitely happens. I just think the site can be a bit over moderated at times. That's all. It's just my opinion.

I prefer the quickest approach possible, to rid of someone like that. I just block em, and then I am a happy bunny again. laugh. I think some people can be way too sensitive and they take some things to heart. Even though a subject isn't really aimed at them in particular. They sometimes make it as if the subject revolves around them. Whereas, it probably isn't.

That is true. Some people are incredibly sensitive and that makes things tough sometimes. No matter how you word something, someone will get offended. There are definitely people out there who look to find things to be offended about, too.

Yeah, I can see how it can seem that way at times, but it's all for the better of the community as a whole.

i believe every report is handled fairly. i don't think the issues in question are issues that have been reported. i don't see every post being read and held up to a posting standard, and i expect not to. some threads are read often while some threads are not read for days. if someone posts on a very old thread, i have seen old posts get cleaned up. it's the threads that invite controversy that posts get looked over. i read people attacking others all the time. some do it straight up and others are more tactful with their jabs. some of these threads go on for pages before they are locked, but eventually a moderator reads a post (or is alerted to one) and straightens things out. i think it seems bias when a thread has not been read by a moderator AND has not been reported, so it remains UNCHECKED

Oversight is at hand also, if you disagree with
anything a Mod hands down, you can take it a
step higher, to Mark.

i don't think it could be labeled as oversight. every moderator has their own opinion and their own problem solving thought process. they are not trained judges (i could be wrong), but i think when they have to answer for every action they take, it makes them think the action through. if they are allowed to discuss a matter with another moderator, that is even a better way to help keep decisions fair

Everything we do is held up to scrutiny, but
if something seems unfair to you,
holler up about it :-)

i suspect that every decision a moderator makes will have supporters and detractors(opposite of supporter is what i am looking for)but i believe that each decision can be looked at again if the issue seems to be unresolved

IMHO too bad you couldn't vote for yourself. if there was a mature poster award, i would think the person worthy would not be the poster with the most posts that has taken the most crap (why would people be giving crap in the first place) but the poster with the most posts that has rarely been given crap. you have a bunch of posts and i have only seen you get beef once
