I will say one thing..I use to live in Illinois and now live in Indiana. Since I moved, when I go home to visit, they all sound twangy and they think I sound Northern? LOL I think I sound NORMAL!!!
I love the New Zealand accent...nothing will compare to it for me!!

Accents are beautiful, they define you. everyone has a little one in them. That is cool!

I really only notice the Southern accents when I am in the States. I am guilty of the eh thing too and Americans tease me about it.

When I talk to people from out of state they tell me I don't sound like a "cali girl". I'm not exactly sure what that means but I suspect it means that I don't sound like the girls from the movie "Clueless"

I dont have one
But I love all the American ones.. my favourites would have to be the Texan and the southern, My daughter and I stood behind an african American to listen to his in the service station, and then followed him around, cause it was so neat. I have no idea what it was, but we did figure out that he had to hussel, to where ever he was going , whatever that is. |

I have traveled a bit and lived in several parts of the US of A, my accent has been modified. The southern accent is my favorite and there are different ones depending on where you are.
I think the normal accent would have to be where the most people live, so California, Texas, New York then Florida. Since Florida is full of people from California, Texas and New York it can't really count (just kidding... maybe!)! by this logic, California is "America's accent". |
