I sit here listening to the sound of the rain.
Wondering could I be doing this all in vain.
Do I not have my eyes open so I can see?
Finding a love this way is not meant to be.
Are we just pretending?
And all this time we are spending.
As we search for that special one.
Knowing it could be a dry run.
But still we search and look upon the pages.
And notice all the different ages.
They live in every state from east to west.
Some even claiming they are the best.
I sit here looking over each name.
Wishing I could tell who thinks this is only a game.
It’s just a way for them to have a little fun.
Or maybe to even strike a Home Run.
Maybe they are here just to see how many they can lay.
With this game they like to play.
But the truth is we have no clue.
Of the ones that are fake and which are true.
We just have to take that chance.
And hope we picked the one that is here for romance.
For we have no way.
In order for us know if they are only here to betray.
All we can do is hope for the best.
The one we chose will not put us to the test.
