Topic: Mid Life Crisis at 24 | |
---|---|
I feel like my best days are behind me. I used to be extroverted, fun, and interesting. I had friends that I could rely on. I had women who loved me. I became close with my family. I used to think anything I put my mind to would be a success. I worked hard, I volunteered, I studied hard and just wanted to make a difference in the world.
This year has been just an absolute disaster. Nothing has gone right. You lose touch with people, and you just realize all the fun must come to an end. You have no benefits, employers schedule you for three hours. The volunteer work and skills you have acquired mean nothing in a recession. The education you paid for is just a piece of paper. Women move on and get married while you wonder how life passed you by. The future is bleak and I hope I gain my optimism back. I just want my life back. I am not depressed, life is just pounding my spirit. |

Life can be a biotch sometimes.
Just ruck up, drive on, and take it one day at a time. You're young yet. You've got time to wait it out. |

We are no professionals here. But it sounds like you need to surround yourself with happy people get out more make time to do what you enjoy.. Life is not over dont let life live you live life instead.
Stop thinking about the women of the past and move on to the women of the future |

You are depressed but don't know it. Seek professional help. If that is not an option, surround yourself with positive people. You need to get out of this funk before it gets worse. I know you probably have heard this many times that things will get better. They do but they take time. You are young and have so much to live for and enjoy. Look out the window and see the beauty of the land. Thinking that life has passed you by is silly. You life if just beginning. There are many women out there for you. She may be right under your nose and don't even see her. You can't because you have surrounded yourself with a black cloud. LET THE SUNSHINE IN.

(((Andrew)))
It's a rough year for everyone. I know that doesn't help much, but it's true. I'll be keeping you in my prayers. |

I had one at 30, my baby was colic, crying 20 hours a day, my dad got cancer and died 6 months later, I found my biological family and found out my sister was a crackhead and my mom was not even alive by the time I finally found here. It happens. Now it's all behind me, I am moving forward in life.

A bit clichéd but sometimes you just have to roll with you down time(s).
Just let them wash over you because you know that they won’t last forever. Take the time you need to wallow and if it doesn’t pass, seek help. |

Thank you everyone for the kind comments and concern. I will be fine. Hopefully I will triumph over this misfortune life has been giving me. I will exercise the majority of the time to deal with this anger.

Valleys teach us to be grateful and appreciate the mountaintop experiences. Welcome to the human journey of ups and downs. This season will pass, they always do. A huge hug for you anyway :-)

I am not depressed, life is just pounding my spirit. Sounds like you are just going through a rough patch. I know how you feel as the recession has ruined my life too. Try getting a job that pays decently at my age. Your friends have moved on; mine are dying. I wish I could say something to make you feel better. I think as others said on this topic; get out and be with positive people. I hope things get better for you soon. |

well i dont know if its the same thing you're going through but when i turned 21 i had a bit of a mid-life crisis. Ya, i know being 21 and saying "im having a mid life crisis" it sounds kinda melodramatic and people tend to scoff but seriously, i did.
I just felt like i had wasted my life doing nothing! i couldnt get a job, i was completely stuck and (as you said) felt that my best years were behind me. Unfortunaly i don't have any magical piece of advice that can fix it for you but i did manage to get through it and so will you-i know that doesn't help much but i would suggest you try to make some changes, it doesn't have to be a major change to make a difference! soon you will look back and think-what was i making such a fuss about |

I wish one had the magic words that could bring light on your darkness but in reality nobody does. Nobody has those key words you need to hear to make you feel 100% again. Remember your an amazing person be thankful for what you have. You have alot of great aspects you could focus on (including your smile)

You're not having a midlife crisis. You're just paying your dues.

This is only mid-life crisis #1
Turning 25 once seemed like over the hill. Wasn't even on the hill yet!! Look to the horizon, make new friends and adventures. There is more. A lot more. |
