See, when you say circular logic, that is what I am talking about. Exactly what I mean. Why do people continue to engage in circular logic when the topic is caught in a vortex. I don't grasp the meaning behind it, is it for flirtations or for boredom? What gives? I see it a lot in the forums...

I think its boredom, desperation to keep the thread going,,lol

Oh, because I was reading your creflo thread and it felt sort of circular and I wondered if funches was turned on by your defensive strengths or something.

lol

thats one of the threads I had in mind

the religion and politics threads often end up that way and I just decide eventually to move on to another thread and 'walk away' to let others continue,,,,

Haha, yeah I enjoy those threads but I am perplexed why some continue on sometimes I just bow out, not because I'm right, because im bored.

Does arguing help you feel flirty with someone? If someone's cute and you start kidding but debating, is it flirtatious for you? Sometimes these types of relationships start out cold but then attract you to one another. Some people like it feisty.

I don't mind a natural debate or small bickering but not intrigued by a constant banter at all. Just noticing in some threads that heavy debates than run on and on and yet run nowhere, the line to agree to disagree is never drawn. It seems like perhaps there is an underlying satisfaction or attraction involved. What say you peeps of mingle?

I like to be right and I usually am when it comes to people who are full of chit and no one points it out. Does it make me feel flirty?

The way I feel about it is if people take themselves way too seriously, then I don't see how things can get really abnormally heated or personal. Do I like it feisty? I think its a hoot when men try so hard to be right. Its cute, you know? Love their convicting verbosity when a woman challenges them mentally.

Natural debates are the best! You go, they listen (hopefully), they go (I always listen), we learn a lot from each other. The differences and other points of view to consider. The debates your referring to are probably ones that get really personal and super vicious. Like when a bully attacks someone for speaking their mind. That happens everywhere. I avoid such instances forthwith.

I hardly go on the religion thread, as I'm not religious. I was curious to read the thread you were talking about, so I had a look, and yeah. It seems like a never-ending arguement. I just see one person vs all others. Any excuse for an arguement me thinks. ohwell

I believe in God, and even I stay away from the religious threads due to the fact that they become repetitive. I took a Logic class in college and the teacher (on the first day) walked in and immediately said there would be no religious debates in class. There was this kid sitting across from me who was so disappointed because he wanted to debate the Bible. So, I told him that he and I could debate it.

So, he looks at me and (matter of factly) asks, "Tell me how you can prove that the Bible is accurate". I looked at him, smiled, and simple stated "I can't. There is no way that anyone can. But that's not what belief in the Bible is about. It's about faith. And faith can't be proven". He actually thought that because I said I couldn't prove the Bible was right that I was admitting it was a lie. Which I found funny cause I made it clear that believing in the Bible, in the Christian God, was all about faith. You either believe it or don't. Why argue? And yet, he was so hell bent on arguing about it that I just had to simply end the debate right then and there.

Now, on dates, I have been asked about what I believe in. Do I believe in God or in a God. And I always answer with that I do believe in God but I have a problem with organized religion. My response does spark more in depth conversation, and it's always a healthy convo because the person is getting to know me (I am thinking this is why). Best convo I had was with an agnostic, who actually grew up in Church but chose to not believe. She and I had great debates about religion, never once getting angry. So, it is possible. Anyways, sorry to ramble. laugh

Yeah, well I don't even think its really about the religion, it was centered around a religious figure but the real argument was whether or not spanking was okay. you don't have to be religious to argue that, but the person in question was a televangelist. I think that "that" thread has played itself out. Someone thrives on arguments. It must turn them on somehow.

I definitely have my own views and opinions. (No doubt about it!)...But I just don't like to waste my time with nasty or silly debates. Life is too short for this kind of "baloney!".. But respectful discussions are nice... I don't feel that I "know everything" so I can "shut-up and listen" and take turns talking. (Hopefully anyway!)

Wait what kind of spanking??? If I win the argument I get to spank someone? If they win, they get to spank me? This must be why no one wants to throw in the towel, or do they?love
