Should it be a free ride or should it come with strings attached?


I say make it stringy! It should be designed to help people get back on their feet. NOT SUPPORT THEM LIKE A GOLDEN LOTTERY TICKET! People should be made to do in order to receive Welfare. I could care less if it is volunteer work, sponsored jobs, or starting a business with Government help. The only people it should support are those who really and honestly cannot work for themselves from catastrophic injury and other qualified acts of God. Just because a Teen gets pregnant means NOTHING! If she has no ambitions other than to stay at home and raise children (which is an utter excuse!) she deserves NOTHING! I MEAN NO HELP! If she is working and struggling, Her family struggles, and she is trying to do the right thing by doing for herself then welfare should be there to help her. She is giving back to the community buy doing for herself as best she can. If she is in School and is struggling to stay there she should be helped! Likewise if the baby's father is involved in the child's life and doing the right thing and they still struggle we should be there to help. Instead of punishing people who try to do something with themselves we should reward them. Those who feel the world owes them a living should go F*** OFF and be told to do so to their face if that attitude is discovered!!! Right now it seems the system rewards slovenly and bad behavior!

A drug addict who just trolls the streets and all they want to do is take drugs, FORGET IT! If they get rehab and pee clean maybe but just to support drug abuse and alcoholism, NO FREAKING WAY!

Illegal Immigrants, Now this goes without saying. If you are here illegally get legal or get out. The idea our government is giving aid to CRIMINALS WHO KNOW THEY ARE HERE ILLEGALLY IS HYPOCRITICAL OF THE LAWS OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS SWORE TO UPHOLD AND PROTECT!

I feel Welfare has become an Entitlement people all too readily abuse. Those in REAL need are being ripped off to give to the unworthy. Welfare is a broken system that needs redesign.

Also I personally feel it sucks children are suffering BUT it was their parents who drag them into the situation the parents live in. Giving aid to illegal aliens is stealing from our own children and it is THEIR PARENTS WHO NEED TO GET A DOSE OF REALITY! If anything their parents compound the crime of them being here illegally since they are putting their children in danger, NOT OUR SYSTEM AND PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP TO THAT FACT AS WELL! Responsibility is a double edged sword and it is not our government's responsibility to support criminals or their families!

Social Security is a different argument all together. I am curious to see what others think about the Welfare system in America.

Former bro-in-law has lived in California over 20 yrs on welfare. Free food, free rent, free medical and free marijuana.

No the current administration admitted to not pursuing known illegals if they committed no other crimes.

They don't require very hard because people make careers out of welfare. When I say mandatory i mean they must go to the DES office once a week with a list of possible employers and turn in names and phone numbers so DES can call and verify that the person is actually looking for work.
