Topic: Flash Mob

IDK, Whatever it was, it wasn't pleasant. If I were to see something like that in public, it would be an annoyance, but as long as they were not in my way or anything, I wouldn't get irritated too much. I do donate to charity, but if something like that were going on, it would discourage me from donating at that particular time. Did you watch the two links I posted for you? Would you find both of those situations annoying? If so, why? I did and yes, I would be annoyed if I saw that. I would find it to be more of a disturbance than entertainment. If I want to see a performance, I'll go to one. I enjoy your questions, that's what the forums are all about. :) Well I am a Jew (legit), and if I prefer a free performance over a paid performance anytime. But never the less support your local artists.. I'm all for supporting the arts and all but it's like with graffiti art, if someone doesn't have permission, it's considered vandalism, same with this kind of thing, I consider it a disturbance if they don't have permission (though even with permission I find it disturbing).

I was first annoyed with your strong dislike but now that you are explaining why you feel that way you do I kind of get where you're coming from. I don't like things that don't make sense and I'm very skeptical because I think there must be a hidden agenda. But I found out it wasn't so. The very first time I ever saw a flash mob was in one of the TV episodes of Weeds. Then I saw more and more videos and like you I was totally confused and didn't understand the whole purpose behind it. But instead of disliking it I was more intrigued. I really wanted to understand the origin of this movement and its purpose because I couldn't get enough info about it online. Then I joined FMA which helped me understand it better. I met in one of the secret practice locations a woman from Italy who had come out here to write a paper for her school about the function of FMA. We learned about it together. It's really unfortunate that your first experience was such a bad one. It sounds like some random people with no prior experience or maybe misinformed group of people tried to imitate a flash mob and failed terribly. Flash mobs are never supposed to invade peoples personal space and when they are over, a huge part of a flash mob is to disperse ASAP.

I knew nothing about it until I saw it and someone asked if that was a flash mob. I just replied. "I'm afraid to even find out what they're doing up there."

Yes, that's what I mean. They don't seem fun and friendly to me. Their agenda seems to be to disrupt business illegally. They are very rude and manipulative to workers and management of the establishments they attack as well, it seems. They seem very fun and friendly! What's with the incredibly negative attitude toward flash mobs? Yeah! Flash mobs, in general, are awesome! Just because some people are doing rude things doesn't make all flash mobs bad. Edit: Check these people out.
