It takes a huge amount of trust on both sides to make it work.
Spending time together is really important, having goals and just enjoying each other. It can be difficult but very possible. |

It takes two to make a thing go right....it takes two to make it out of sight!

I've tried the long-distance relationship. Personally, it's difficult for me. I prefer the face to face interaction, the spontaneity of getting together, rather than phone calls, texts, etc. You both continue to live your seperate lives when you should be sharing a part of your lives together, getting to know each other, and whether a relationship together would work.

I am sure if I won a lottery I could make one work.
But until then probably not for me. |

Gotta say....
Point 1 "I hate myself" is Joan Jett. Secondly, the only good song Pat Benetar ever did was "Hell is for Children" The first point is accuate. The second point is my opinion. |

I've seen LDRs work many times. Not so often when the people are younger. Guys like women too much and wander if the meet-ups are too far apart. Women like attention to much and get bored. Once you've matured its very possible.
The killer is if you try to blend children. That does require some closeness to see if you have compatible styles of raising the kids, do they get along once the honeymoon is over, is there jealousy when a parent wants some alone time with their natural kids, etc... If you just "go for it" the stress can implode a feasible match because of the duress everyone is under. |

For me, having an emotional drain being in LDR is IMO not healthy. What if someone would like to see you for coffee, or lunch to chat. Another thumbs down on LDR. Been there-done that. Reasonably local is more logical for both parties.
