Is it okay for men to date women just for female companionship, and vice versa if there is no intention of getting involved in an intimate relationship? Assume all parties are honest with each other. |

Sure, why not? As long as no one is leading the other on or pretending something that isn't real for them. That's when people get hurt.
If they want to be intimate under the same set of circumstances, that's for them to decide, as well. |

Sure, if both people are honest and happy with what they have, anything is ok.

I think it is a great idea. I have had a lot of trouble with it though, as almost all my lady friends ended up wanting more and when I did not provide it, they went looking and then did not have time to maintain a friendship or hang out, once they found someone who would "give" to them.

My best friend is male. We don't call it dating but we both go out together often and he even sleeps in my bed some nights. There's no sexual relationship. We snuggle up next to each other and it's a way to get the closeness from the opposite sex we need without the crap that goes with being in an intimate relationship. We love each other as friends and it works for us.
