I have found this thread to be very amusing and quite educational. Thanks Fanta for all your research. There have been a multitude of suggestions on this thread and similar threads recently about how to raise income for the government without income tax. Some favor teriffs on imported goods, others a form of sales tax. Two things are certain.

1. the government is going to get the money they need to squander in the fashion they see fit.

2. the people are going to supply that money in one way or another.

You can put all the teriffs you want on imported goods, that cost will be passed directly through to the consummer. No matter what tax you levey on business it will be passed through to the consummer. These taxes will hurt the ones who are the least able to pay the most, the low income people because it will raise the price of all merchandise. The only difference is the pass through taxes are harder to identify because they are hidden in the price of the product.

As far as taxes go, the government does give you an option, you can pay them and like it or you can pay them and not like it.

what does a government make on 0 percent taxation? ans. 0
how much at 100 percent taxation? ans. 0
so wheres the line between taxation and oppression? We are past that line wherever it is and are going down because of it.

Sorry, Forge, I can't debate you right now. I'm just about taxed out of existance. Well, I'm taxed out of money, anyway.

What does anyone think of Neal Boortz's "Fair Tax Plan where the IRS is abolished, and we're taxed on what we spend rather than what we make?

any plan that gets rid of the IRS GETS my support.
its been proven time and time again how LOWERING taxes frees the economy up so that the govt actually makes more money. what other reason could they have for overtaxation besides control?

I think that a person who can hardly afford to buy anything now except the essentials, would be placed entirely outside of the price range of even more. That's what I think, but I haven't read the plan.
Yesterday, tomorrow, or next week, everyone on here trying to find a way to not pay taxes will make some complaint, suggestion, or request for a service or benefit that is currently paid for by tax dollars. Either that, or it is available, because there is not enough funds in the government budget to pay for it.
Some, at least one, shows an unending support for the war in Iraq, which is costing us billions of tax dollars. I wont mention names, but I think it should be obvious to everyone, who that someone is.
You cant have it all three ways, Vote, and pay your taxes at least. This person has already made both proclamations that they do neither, within the last 7 days. Their support for keeping the troops in Iraq is made everyday.
If you at least paid your taxes and voted, I might be able to see you have a view. As is, I can not see you complaining about anything that happens in this country. You are a non- citizen in my eye, and should "STFU." First participate in citizen activities, then complain all you want. In other words, get involved, and then try to change the things you dont like.

fanta what you dont ralise is that ive been ther done that no end and it just dont make a difference. the real problem is that you cant get people, expecially white people to work together. if we stuck together we could clean up the govt. never gonna happen.
show me a crowd of 100,000 people with like views and ill lead the charge.
i can GUARANTEE you that ive done more freedom fighting than you and three of your friends. you really dont know what your talking about when making a blanket statement like vote and participate or shut up. it dont apply here. im way past that stage, which is the first step to enlightenment. im on step 52.

There's no specific law requiring anyone to pay labor tax.
I understand you'll lose in court, unless you get a jury trial
and demand the law be shown to the jury. I've heard that people have walked that way. (They CAN'T produce it).

thats why you have to go around them, not thru them. if you go to thier courts youll more than likely fail. You Must not have any contracts with them. thats the key.

whether im for or against the war is irrelavent anyway. WE ARE THERE. Thats a fact. What you or i think about the legality of it all dont matter one bit. i say we should finish what we started. fix the problem, not the blame. oh theres another one for the liberals... lets fix the blame and ignore the problem.

So, rambill -
Are you saying that whether or not starting this war of aggression was a BAD idea or not (and let's, for the sake of argument, say it that WAS a bad idea), we should.. continue supporting
(throwing money and lives down the Dispos-All) what was just wrong
in the first place? dig a DEEPER hole? And what do you mean: "whether I'm for or against the war is irrelevant"? If you took an oath to defend and uphold the constitution and you see your leaders wipe their ass with it, is that of no relevance also?
We should just keep bullying? Is THAT your idea? If it's WRONG,
just keep going WRONG-ER?

It is better to put a tax on consumption, than income.

cbx, lets fix the problem, not the BLAME.
typical liberal. theres no hope of success, it was a mistake, lets fold. lets not finish the job so the rest of the world will learn... again... that we wont follow thru so if they bide thier time, they can eventually have thier regime back.... and also, they get to kill everyone that collaborated with us.....its not our problem even though we started it... yadda yadda same ole liberal story.

After getting over the shock of seeing Knox and myself agree on somethinglaugh laugh I think Neal Boortz's plan to abolish the IRS is good, however very unrealistic. The IRS is probably the most powerful org. in government...even more so then say the NSA or CIA..or even Congress and the President. Waiting for something like to happen is like waiting to see if pigs can flylaugh laugh laugh
