I have guy friends so I don't expect a guy to give up his female friends.
I have, however, been with guys who have had very iffy friendships with females..ones where it's obvious that there is some hope on her side that it may one day be more...and he was being friendly enough to the point that he was feeding into that hope. And in that case, id prefer the relationship cool down for everyone involved. I never asked them to give up the friendship though....but I didn't stay with him lOng either. I've only asked once for a friendship to be dissolved and it was my ex husband. And it was a very valid request...as it turned out he was having an affair with her. We divorced shortly after. |

When my son first got involved with his now ex wife...that was the first thing she did...put a stop to his having friends..or family...she needed all his attention she said..she was screwing around on him the whole time and never stopped. It's a dayum shame how people like her work the affections of others. Wow. I am going through that right now with my son and his wife. She has done permenant damage to my sons and my relationship, I fear. We are no longer speaking and there is no contact with his sister. He has no friends except who she approves of. I cannot see this relationship lasting with all the lies and venom going on. So very sad. It breaks my heart. |

I lived pretty far away at the time this was happening, but I did stop going to see him. I would only visit with him while he was at work and with a few phone calls..She and I fought all the time, all it was doing nothing but hurting my son, so I finally backed off..It took him 8 yrs to find out what she really was and he divorced her. When he finally realized what damage she had done to his son, he couldn't believe he had allowed it to happen. Hopefully your son will realize earlier what is happening and will turn around his way of thinking. Just keep loving him and pray for the best. |

Insecure. Manipulative. Controlling. Jealous.
Tell them to grow up or get lost. |

Humm honestly I have no problem with them having friends of the opposite sex as long as they include me in... Now I do have a problem if they always want to be with them and I've been outcast in the meet... I do have male friends and that is all they are......But when I'm with someone then they are always included to be around me when with my friends...If they choose to not be that is their problem... If one tells me I have to give up my friends cause he is insecure that is his issue not mine.. As long as we are only friends they will stay within my life... I don't tend to keep ex lovers as a buddy buddy... but will be social around them if it so happens we are in the same place.. |

What do you all think when a new love one don't want u to be talking to your friends of the opposite sex. Is that because they're insecure or because they are jealous because they're Double dippin or both?? Not sure what the "double dippin" reference means here, but I'm not into controlling people. I won't tell someone who to be friends with or not to be friends with, so I expect the same from someone I'm dating. |

I guess I skimmed over the whole double dippin part of this topic.
I don't necessarily think someone's cheating bc they aren't comfortable with their so having friends of the opposite sex. Perhaps they've been repeatedly cheated on by exes who claimed they were "just friends" with the girl. Who knows? It's a tough situation and I'm sure it's hard on all parties involved. I've never cheated, and I don't normally mind if a guy has female friends as long as they are cool with me taking up more of his time than normal and want to be friendly with me too. The few times I have had an issue with a friendship, I've been proven right to worry. Meh. Let's just all be friends! Makes it so much easier! |

Is that because they're insecure or because they are jealous because they're Double dippin or both?? I think that sometimes people are suspicious because of the wrong they have done to others, but most often they are suspicious because of the wrong thats been done to them open communication should resolve those issues as the relationship develops,,, |

I work with truckies and my first two hubby's couldnt deal with the fact that my friends where all male. None of them use my name just call me love, My love, gorgeous or smiley.
To my ex's that meant that I was pretty much having affairs. I have no idea why they where so insecure, I think it's just them, However both of them played up on me. So maybe because they did it they thought I would. |

I've known my best friend for 14 years, she's like a little sister and best friend rolled into one. She's sweet, smart and gorgeous. When I am seeing somebody, the big test is when they meet her and how they react. If they get along with her, I've found a winner.
That's the point that I really find out if the person I am seeing has any issues that I did'nt see before. |
