i used to just "follow my heart" - i know it sounds corny, but you really gotta use your head aswell i've learned! you have to think if the person you are with will enhance your life, or take away from it. all this passionate love is fun and exhilarating, but for something to really last there has to be so much more there, passion or fire eventually dies down, and when that happens you can either be left with glowing embers, or a pile of ash. so you need a bit of both head and heart IMO

perhaps it is both. there is a connection between the heart and mind.

i try to avoid loving from the heart until i know it's going somewhere, then i'll let the walls down around my heart and let te love out

I believe it is the brain because you have to learn things about them to fall in love and then the heart will follow... If you fall for the looks it is lust til you get to know them which takes the brain to understand what is lies and what you want in a person
