Anyone else find it ironic that an older white guy (Oldhippie1952) responds to bigotry post by saying "I just give everyone enough rope to hang themselves."? Probably no intention there just ironic and sort of funny.

No, no username is given, so it's not a violation, since it could be anyone.

Topics which are started with the intent to denigrate, belittle, disparage, or exclude another Mingle2 member or members, or specific groups or classifications of Mingle2 members, either directly named or through enough descriptive commentary to be possibly identified, are prohibited. Such topics will be instantly deleted and may result in the banning of the original poster. This includes following another poster around in the forums, posting about past events gone sour, divulging personal information, spreading gossip or rumors, posting email exchanges between users, etc. Keep the drama off the forums!

it was a general post, not directed at anyone specifically in mingle, in fact, it was ABOUT someone I know outside of mingle personally

if some of the hundreds of minglers happen to fit the generalization,,,,thats noones fault

No, not at all. It's an old expression. I do, however, find people who attempt to drum up accusations of racism to be be boorish.

I don't know who you are talking about, but I'm fairly certain this thread violates rule #2.

someone from politics forum keeps popping up in my head.

mine too,,,,

If other users can identify the user you are posting about, then you are definitely violating rule #2.

Just because a post makes a mingler think of someone else, it does not mean that the post was directed at someone in the forums.

oh boy will this race issue end?! having problems with a person has nothing to do his race, will people see people as good or bad and not of race or colour, so many races are mixing together and producing beautiful kids at the end of the day it all comes down to love. nothing beats that
i agree oh race issues are a touchy subject and to me its a heart of a person not the color and i hope your problems get solved soon my friend with that person hugssssssssflowers waving

when people try to disprove bigotry by alluding to exceptions they have made to befriend some individuals within the group they are bigoted against?

or when people try to prove bigotry by alluding to discussions about race relations or bigotry?

I knew once, a person who hated another race(or at least STRONGLY looked down upon), they met someone of that race who also hated that race, and once they became a couple (lust and common ground can conquer mountains), the former constantly alluded to the latter as proof they werent racist

even though, the latter was a perfect and constant way for them to VALIDATE their racism (After all, if even a member of the hated group can see what I see I must be right,,,,)
A racist is someone who believes in the superiority of one race over another, or who acts differently (usually negatively) towards a person or a group of people because of their race.

A bigot is a blinkered, narrow-minded person, usually also very intolerant and unable to see anyone else's point of view. People can be bigoted about things that have nothing to do with race, for example, religion or sexual orientation.

All racists are bigots, but by no means are all bigots racist. That is, a racist is a bigot against a particular race or every race except for his/hers. Anyways my friend have a great day hugssssss  flowerforyou waving   but for me i am neither i wish there is more love in this world 1 day and that people will be more understanding and caring to each other God bless :)

dja see that part?

I assume you are talking to me, rather than all users. Yes, I did see that part. It doesn't change how I feel about the post. A person who doesn't use race at their touchstone for all thought and conversations, wouldn't make the illogical leap to assume that any mention of rope in a discussion of race could be seen as referring to the lynching of black people.

Not an attempt at trumping up racism my friend. I'm not like that at all however, honestly just thought it was funny. No need to be so sensitive about something that I stated was funny. Geesh!
