can you love a male that do not tolerate you sometimes No because I'm not very tolerant of intolerance. People are not perfect and most are flawed. For me, it's the flaws that make them interesting and worth knowing. Or maybe it's just a case of like attracting like Welcome to the site. |

so the man should endeavour to tolerate his partner at all cost you mean.

I would never date someone who simply couldn't even "tolerate" me like I was a bad food or something. You don't have to like everything I do, I won't like everything he does. But I would never want to be with someone who even uses the word "tolerate" when talking about me.

There are certain actions I would not tolerate, which means we would break up. Cheating, lying, irresponsible, those are the kinds of things I will not tolerate in a partner.

Kinda but it would depend on what I was tolerating.
I wouldn't be tolerant of someone that abuses his partner and/or children or someone that stole from me or cheated on me as examples. I would be tolerant of some forms of inconsideration if I knew it wasn't intentional, if it was just his way. |

I never could understand why the acceptance of others has become the most important issue in life.

If I could not "Tolerate" her......why would I want to be around her???
If She could not "Tolerate" me..... I would want her to free herself from that!!!! Love does not tolerate........ And toleration is NOT........ Love!!!!! |

Love magically makes one accept, what they normally would not tolerate

I am curious what the op means by 'tolerate'
IF I can not tolerate someones behavior while drinking, they have to drink when they are not around me if they wish to show me respect IF I can not tolerate someone smoking around me, they would have to not smoke in my presence to show me respect ,,,these forms of 'tolerate', we can work around if someone cant RESPECT me enough to withhold those types of voluntary actions around me knowing they cause me such discomfort that would be something that I could not 'TOLERATE' enough to work around,,, |

If you are in a relationship, you should communicate things that may cause problems. There should be mutual respect for the other's feelings, beliefs, and comfort. Togather, try to find a solution or compromise acceptable to both.
When you care about and/or love someone, you try to make them happy. That may mean making some changes in yourself. It may be that you could gently help them change something. If you are looking for perfection in a partner, you will be sadly disappointed. No one is perfect. We all have some flaws, bad habits, or different opinions. You have to decide if it is something you can live with. I would not want to be with someone that "tolerated" me. That doesn't sound very loving. |

I never could understand why the acceptance of others has become the most important issue in life. I am not sure it has - but your comment raises an interesting question. I think acceptance of a partner is very important, but not "others" as in everyone there's a lot I do not accept but tolerate because I have to there's also some I'd accept but seem to just tolerate me...freindship is a 2 way st. |

acceptance is just a nice way to say tolerate.... nope. Acceptance means it doesnt bother you. Tolerate means it bothers you but you will allow it in your life. if it doesn't bother you...then why would it require acceptance |

since your question was directed to klc and not me I will post separately rather than quoting. to tolerate something is where you don't fight it - or can coexist but may not want it directly in your life - accepting something means you'd be willing to have that in your life
it's like a level above tolerate so to speak at least this is my view and once again, google dictionary is your freind |
