So you all know I am staying in this fancy hotel because of the flood at the condo and I have State Farm. Does anybody else do this when they stay in a nice hotel, happy sad glad mad, I take a hot shower and use a fresh soft fluffy towel. I mean I bought my own Dove body wash and poofy but I feel like I must use those fluffy towels and take advantage of the sparking clean tub and endless hot water. Like it's compulsory. Anybody else do that?? Just curious.

I am thinking strongly about renting a hotel room for a micro vacation to do just that.

One place I will never EVER stay in, and I hope no one else EVER does in Day's Inn Sea World in San Diego. We did when we went to see my Son and they absolutely were the worst. Lied to us about having accessible rooms and the room was disgusting. I have seen better Homeless Shelters.

I have one better. Sandyland Reef Motel in Carpinteria, CA. In the shower, cold is hot and hot is cold. The floor under the shower is supported by one beam that bulges through the shower floor. You feel like if you don't stand on the beam, you will crack through the floor. The shampoo and soap is cheap it feels like it's made with lye. The towels are tiny and crunchy. They have bugs in the bed that bite. Most of the light bulbs were burnt out. It was dirty. The remote is nailed to the table. On July 3rd, I paid over $200 for this. I did not stay the night.

P.S. There is a wonderful Days Inn in King City where you can get a jacuzzi in your room for like $150 a night.

And there is an awesome Motel 6 in Simi Valley to run away too.

AND in Lompoc, I forget the name, there is a hotel where all the fly boys bed their girlfriends next to a coffee shop off the main drag, super nice and cheap.

I like seedy motels with round beds, and everyone checks in under assumed names.

I like the heated towel rails. Not liking the mint under the pillow thing though, as you could easily forget it's there, which means you may end up lying on it, and it melts all over that clean bed. lol. I always tell the young children in our family, that the bathroom is my tardis, lol. I like to feel like i have MY OWN bathroom at times. That reason alone, would have me seeking a hotel room. It just feels more convenient. Especially when you live with more than one person, and they're argumentative. Ever since the age of seventeen, I've had urges to run away. I'm a professional at hiring a hotel room by now. Sometimes you just have to go somewhere alone.

I like to stay at the Double Tree chain of hotels. When you check in, they give you a warm chocolate chip cookie. I also like to order room service...makes me feel pampered. lol

Generally speaking, when I hit a hotel, it is right when I get off the plane and me and Soufie leave the airport, take the shuttle and 20 minutes later are just breathing in the love. (It could be in a mud hut or a luxury suite...wouldn't matter)

I often get a room with my best friend when she is in town with her Monkey boy. (grandson) and we hang out, get tore up from the floor up and play Rock Band doing vocals.

But, it is nice when it is a clean well appointed room and the lock is'nt broken from being kicked in and there are old blood stains in the bathroom.

Nope We own one, I just love to escape and live in a house or a tent, teepee,anything that is away from a reminder of work. Hotel and holiday just don't go together for me.

I look at it this way... by keeping the towels dirty and room a mess...someone gets to have a job.
I may as well enjoy it if I am paying for it.
