Sounds like a cool place.
What's the population?

1 Houston 2,099,451
2 San Antonio 1,327,407
3 Dallas 1,197,816
4 Austin 790,390
5 Fort Worth 741,206
6 El Paso 649,121
7 Arlington 365,438
8 Corpus Christi 305,215
9 Plano 259,841

I'm from a big enough town but it's a place where everybody knows everybody and your business too.

Hows the current job situation?

plenty of jobs, take your pick

I loved basketball in school but after school there are no women's teams only men. BBQ's are cool too, we'd be lucky to have ONE during summer as our weather here is so bad. I say Howdy all the time when I text or Bonjour sometimes. Good job ese, you did Texas proud flowerforyou

hope to see you soon

Yikes, my town has roughly around 20,000 or under. A small person like me could get lost in a place that big surprised shocked

Move to Dallas area (Dallas-Ft Worth metroplex). I live in the center in Irving, about 150,000 people. Small yet has big city attractions.

Move to Texas. The rest of the world is overrated.

i second this motion (that's two votes for texas)

Why Texas? A wee bit more info would go a long way please flowerforyou

Houston has one of the best economies in the US right now, and as a state, Texas is in the top 5 for jobs and overall fun... Austin is really booming right now too, which might be a better fit for you, as it is a major college town. Dallas and San Antonio have some of the largest population booms in the US, they both are ranked in the top ten fastest growing US cities. (or their suburbs are)... what kind of work do you do? if anything to do with gas and oil, Houston would be a good fit for you.

Teaching profession is being cut back right now, I think everywhere in the USA. Just don't tell anyone if I'm wrong about that!

i think you may be wrong, even the government is giving extra grant money for students to become educators. they do need teachers out here, in some places more than others. i think the states just don't pay enough for people to put up with the politics involved with it. but what i have heard from friends that are teachers is that the lower the grade they teach, the better and easier it is. I nknow i would never even try to teach high schoolers out here, because of their attitude...

I don't think you're wrong on that one. Seems that's the case in a lot of places, including over here. It's extremely bad here.

That's true! Although kids are a handful at the best of times, it is SO much easier with younger kids.
