By resorting to torture & dismemberment, we lower ourselves from the point of appropriate punishment for a crime. If the death sentnece is rendered, it should be done quickly & neatly;
bullet to the head or hang man's noose, would seem just to me.
We are enforcing justice, lets do it properly.

Dam, with all of the stay of executions by the Surpream Court, not many executions are being carried out. Too bad. I wonder what happened?

as far as Humanely putting someone to death,i think they should get what they give.for instance,if someone murders someone by brutally stabbing them or beating them to death i say the victims family should be given them same kind of weapons the murderer used and let them loose in the room with that person.why should we give someone a nice unpainful death if their victim didn't get one?why should we give the murderer special treatment???is he better then the person he killed?   grumble grumble grumble

can you imagine what that would DO to the family...to have to live with doing that?

we aren't animals. to find joy in execution makes us no better than the man being put down.

break the law pay for the crime. what would the world be like if there was no justice. look back to the olden days man, that would have been a tuff time to live in.

it's like something that was said in a song i heard

If everyone wore pistols, the rate of crime would drop
We could all sleep easier,no need for the cops
So lets get armed and dangerous before it's too late
Guns made America great!

It is 4 PM and you are scheduled for execution, by lethal injection at 10 PM and they ask you: " what do you want as your last meal"? What would be your request?

Mine: Lobster tail/Steak/Chicken Strips, Onion Rings,French Fries, Apple Pie/Vanila Ice cream and a bananna split, with the works.

Guess I wouldn't have to worry about calories or weight gain.

I agree with it in certain cases yes...With in disputable proof...Canada outlawed the death penalty a long time ago and life in prison doesn't even mean life... in 7,10, or 25 years you are eligible for parole...BUT you are on parole for life...Doesn't make much sense to me!!!!!!!!!

flowerforyou drinker

Actually inCanada the Criminal Code Of Canada specifies for first degree murder 25 yrs before parole can be granted
For second degree murder it varies from 10 yrs to 25 yrs depending on the juries reccomendation. I used to be for it but two names pop up they are Donald Marshal wrongly convicted but late exonerated when the real murderer was found and David Milgaard also wrongly convicted but exonerated after the real killer was caught. So untill we have abosolute proof then no to the death penalty. I think there wioll never be absolute proof So no lock them away no parole.

I dont believe in the death penalty, for any reason. Who are we to take a life? Doesnt that lower us to the same level as the accused?
Perhaps I would feel differently If it were my family member or friend who had been murdered, however my judgement would be clouded by anger at that point.
I don't support it at all.
