What form of love are we speaking?
There is the love of relation. 'Blood is thicker than water'. Loving your family, your friends, those who've supported you; those who not only watched you fall, but helped you back to your feet. There is the love of faith. To love, respect, praise, and worship God (no matter what name He is referred to as). It is an invisible love that is bound by hope, strengthened by admiration, and built on faith. There is love of self. To love ones' self for who they are, what they mean to others, and, in some extremes, how much one 'idolizes' him or herself. I believe another word they use occasionally is 'ego'. An ego is good, but only in small, humble portions. There is love of a stranger. Loving someone else; outside of pets, friends, or relatives, but in one, particular individual. Someone who you find yourself jumping in front of a train to save, walking across hot, burning coals to hold one last time; to embrace the one who alters your very outlook and belief on life with nothing more than a priceless smile tossed your way. This type of love means sacrifice. Placing your own ideals, and feelings behind someone elses; it is willing to change everything, whether large or small, just to please that other individual, but love is also acceptance, a concept of holding the willingness to change, but knowing that you don't have to. This type of love shouldn't have a word, because it holds no true definition; for each person it means something else. It can mean a smile that lifts your spirit, melts your soul, and adds purpose to a rather seemingly meaningless existence. Love is life. Not just to live it, but to embrace it. To be surrounded by nothing but that which you define as beauty, yet that person is the only one you see. It's the only smile you want to remember; it's the only touch you wish to feel, it's the only kiss that makes your eyes slowly drift closed. It is inspiration. I gives you not only the will to excel, but the drive and purpose in order to see it through. Love is staying awake at night, just to watch the other fall asleep first. Love is like a poem; it isn't staged, there are no actors reciting lines; but just the idea that when ink meets paper, everything just flows outward, unbridled, unhindered, and unedited --because, you already know what to write, because it's what you feel, it's what you know. Love is the sun. Love is the moon. One shouldn't exist without the other, otherwise, we never know when to sleep or when to rise. Day should not exist without night; just as shadows don't exist without something to block the light. Love is support. To do all that he/she makes you feel, and return it, wholeheartedly, without a single shed of room for disapproval, dissatisfaction, or negativity. Love is not noticing it's pouring down rain, but instead you are caught staring at the rainbow in the darkness. Love is putting the past where its name entails it belongs; love is not studying the future as closely as others, because it is the now, the right here and now; this very moment, with you, that matters; because you know, tomorrow may not ever come; and so, I will make the best of each precious moment I have with you. ..love is also giving up the last cookie, even if you reallly wanted it. :/ |

Define... LOVE ! For me, love is to stop living for yourself... Everything you do, you do for yourself, either directly or indirectly. No one does things, being in their right mind, to improve the evironment thinking it is for something else. As the human mind is responsible for human action, then love has to be defined in terms of what we do. Love is all the things two people do together to maintain and promote their life. One does not eat because they are hungry, but to nourish the body. hunger is an emotion, people think love is an emotion. Emotions come and go, but love is eternal. |

Love is me...love is an emotion and interpreted in different ways by different people. For me it starts within...and how it is defined would be dependent on the recipient(s)- it isn't a one size fits all!

Define... LOVE ! Love is a term used as an excuse to justify an irrational frame of mind or questionable behavior FOR EXAMPLE: (CATHY said)...susie he took your wooden leg an pawned it...why do you stay with him (SUSIE replied).....because I love him DISCLAIMER: the names displayed in the above example were changed to protect the guilty |
