I have traveled to meet 2 fellas, and did a background check on both first. Paranoid? No. Had a stalker in the 80s who stalked me for several years before catching and raping me. Messed me up for a long time, but not letting it control my life. At my age, where else am I gonna meet anyone.

1st guy is now my best friend, second could very well be the love of my life. Sometimes you just have to take a chance.

I am hooked up with a lot of people on Facebook. Some of them I even know.

I joined to make some friends. I have met and become friends with some of the most awesome people. I am not closed to finding someone, I just don't expect it. There is a person that I wish I could meet, but again the distance thing sucks.

Some of us stick around even while we're dating people. I'm not seeing anyone at the moment, but I have dated people while I've been a part of this site.

Not a difficult choice? For some people maybe. For me, there's not much of a choice to make. For me to relocate, I'd have to leave my family, lots of friends that I've had my whole life, sell my house that I've been in forever, abandon my business that's taken me almost 20 years to build, then that's not even getting into deciding to sell/or finding a way to transport something like all my cars that some of which I've had since high school/college and aren't easily replaceable physically, let alone the mental attachment. All that to be with somebody, which in all reality, chances are against you that it would work out in the long run.

Guess yer not coming to VA then, huh?

I think this is the case for some people. They like the fantasy, but don't want to deal with reality. I don't see the point. Then again, I also try to get out and meet people and don't solely rely on this site.

Since when is relocating not a difficult choice?

I heard my power was off for 2 hours. We must be getting some good storms. I miss everything, I love a good storm. I do hope my dog id ok. SHe hates that stuff.

One of the nice things in my life is that my friends - the ones I truly have a bond with - will always be there no matter where I go. So maybe I don't see them in person as often, but we will keep in touch by phone and internet. I already have friends I have not seen in 10 years, but we have not fallen out of touch. They are there just as they were before they moved away.

The two things that have held me back from moving have always been family and resources. A year ago, I had the resources, but family prevented me from moving. In another year, family will not be an issue because of events taking place now. In another year, I may also have the resources once again.

So the situation is fluid. It can change quickly. If an opportunity arises - one you've been waiting for - seize it before it slips away.

Bushido was more than a code of honor or a sense of duty. It was a philosophy for living without regrets. A samurai could die at any time in defense of his lord, his clan, or his family. It was important that he always be prepared for this so his mind would be at peace during his passing.

I have had many regrets because I have not seized opportunities as they arose. It is a hard lesson to learn by trial and error. But it is a lesson worth learning, none the less.

That's why I would be willing to move - to stop having regrets.

Yeah....I almost didn't recognize him when I saw the pic for the first time today. He kinda reminds me of my friend Mike now....when he's not wearing glasses.

No reason to deny what is plain to see.

Then again....some of us do take the leap and say "To hell with distance". My goal is to move to Oregon and Get me some monkey style lovin on a daily basis with the woman who I fell for. Already been twice and my income tax refund is going for the next ticket to the coast. Eventually, I will be with her permanently but, there are some logistics to be ironed out. To be frank, it is gonna take sound fiscal planning and forethought in reguards to making arrangements for my folks as well as moving my biquits half the country away. If I had the $ I would have moved already.

The "ideal" would be quick and easy and sunshine and rainbows. The reality ain't as easy as running away to join the circus and getting sold into slavery and prostitution.
