Topic: Dates: Who should pay? | |
---|---|
Hi ladies and gentleman I'm just taking a poll out of curiosity so I know what the dating climate is these days. Who should pay on a date? guy always? always split the check? take turns each consecutive date? or whoever asks for the date? whoever can afford it?
Your feedback is greatly appreciated! |

You should go dutch, always, but keep in mind that if one or the other is too poor that week you might be dining at McDonald's unless you don't mind covering once every blue moon.

If a woman wants to get into my pants....I expect her to drop some cold hard cash and treat me like a lady.
(I bet Gloria Steinham never thought of that aspect of equal rights) hehehehehe |

Honestly...what I do....Show up with enough cash to cover the date. If she wants to chip in..great! If not, the evening is still covered.
If you ain't willing to cover the expenses...it ain't a date. It's just hanging out with a buddy. |

The one who asks for the DATE pays, if it is just a "getting to know you for the first time"-coffee date....then it is dutch.
Once you are in a relationship or seeing each other steadily, take turns or offer to pay once in a while. |

I always offer to pay for at least my share.

Call me old fashioned,,BUT,,I am the man,,I'll pay. Now THAT would be on the first date and follow-ups can be whoever,,lol,,but I feel its important for the dude to at least do THAT as one of the few benefits we still CAN DO......lol So many dudes now expect their date to spend,,I mean most that I've seen do that,,,,couldn't buy chit anyway? And I don't care what the use IS,,,a USER is a USER? |

It's just hanging out with a buddy. If you can't afford to cover your half of the bill(s), then you shouldn't have agreed to go (on the date). |

Same thread as this ... I stick to my first thought. If they invite then they should pay. If I invite then I will pay.

being a man, i think the man should def pay on the first 2 dates. if the lady wants to pay, insist first that she doesnt have to.
mind you, if the lady has had a bad time she may insist on covering her costs so there is nothing "owed". i enjoy taking ladies out on dates, spoiling them a little and making sure they have had a good time. i would never knock it back if someone wanted to buy me dinner in return. |

And I don't feel like I owe him anything if a man pays for a date. He can think that way if he wants, but then he would not be a gentleman also agree that a guy will see u as a buddy if u pay rather than as a date. I've never had a guy ask me to pay, but I have helped cover when we decided to expand the evening |
