Topic: How do you stay in shape? | |

Mostly I just have a good metabolism and immune system.
But also walking a lot, doing push-ups... and making the most out of sex. |

LOL Worrying about staying in shape is about as far down the list of things I have to do as well it's pretty far down the list.
Since going to the gym would be reminenent of bad sex with my Ex I really wonder why anyone does it. Not to say I have not had more than a few rounds with a physical terrorist I just prefer to do something creative or at least constuctive. Doing movement in water seems the least pain for the most good. My personal favorite is pulling weeds. It is very carthotic when you have something/someone you really feel like throttleing and you have to bend over generally in some form of public place so it is inhibiting when you have the temptation of cheesecake at hand. When I can't fit in my garden jeans I know to knck it off a few days. That you move a lot of parts of your body makes it a general work out and the result is a beautiful garden so double your pleasure. It doesn't hurt to read a few lables and upgrade your cooking skills so you can lower the cost of doing the business of eating. Somethings granted need to be enjoyed in smaller portions but I am not into depravation and variety can be luxury in it s own right even cooking for one. Skills in the kitchen are not that overwhelming to learn and many are glad to share their talent in exchange for help with the dishes if not a few compliments. What I learned a long time ago is if someone only loves you because you have a great body, hair, looks sooner or later their vanity won't be satisfied and you loose anyway so picking someone who loves you for you then help them grow with whatever you become by ageing gracefully will net you love and self approval. |

My best way of staying in shape is through dance..I love dancing plus its so much fun..its the best way to lose weight if u hate exercising..then if I want to work on a specific area of my body eg ab,I do ab workouts...if u try that n it still doesn't work,u cud check your food intake..try and reduce any fatty stuff (reduce dnt eliminate coz I knw how hard it is to remove those lovely French fries and burgers from our diets) and increase the vegiz..it ought to work out

Do you stay in shape? If so, how? What is your favorite or easiest way? Howdy, just thought I'd shed some light on your questions. Staying in shape has more to do with what you eat and your lifestyle than solely spending hours in the gym. As a general rule of thumb, low fat diets, low calorie diets are useless. Stick to high protein, moderate fat (polyunsaturated/monounsaturated/saturated) and moderate complex carbohydrates (low glycemic index) diets. We're talking natures way, fruits, vegetables, lean meats, nuts, beans, fish, the less packaged/processed goods the better! Your metabolism is the key to staying in shape, only 20-30% of your metabolism stems from exercise through the gym. The reason a workout contributes more is the recovery process from a strenuous session. Even so, weight sessions shouldn't extend further than 45 minutes, and core/balance routines should always come after resistance training, followed by cardiovascular training, all up including warming up to begin with, cooling down and stretching to finish with, the entire workout shouldn't extend longer than an hour and a half. 3 workouts as above a week would be plenty with supplementary 30minute walks/jogs through other days that prove too busy. Truth is, it's not supposed to be easy. This silly notion that the things in life that are worth achieving should be easy befuddles me. If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot me a message as I'm a Personal Trainer for special populations (diabetics/asthmatics etc), a specialist in Sports Science as well as Nutritionist/Dietitian, I'm currently also studying a course in Kinesiology. Health & Fitness is my life and I encourage anyone and everyone to be a part of it. :-) All the best in your fitness goals! |

Do you stay in shape? If so, how? What is your favorite or easiest way? Favorite & easiest way? Simple. I don't drink alcohol. I'm not joking. I lost about 30-40 pounds JUST from not drinking. Didn't change my diet or anything. Oh...and being active at work helps. I know that if I'm on vacation, that I tend to gain a little weight. |
