Someone threatens you with a gun or a knife and tells you to get in the car. Do you fight knowing you may be stabbed or shot on the spot or do you get in and hope for the best?

Sorry to say they are going to have to take me down where I stand......no way will I go with someone for them to take me and do the same thing....or worse...

I would fight, chances are if I got in the car they would kill anyways, so I won't go without a fight.

I make boo boo in my pants then I show them, they usually drive off.

I think my brain in an emergency, would see
getting into a car as a potential death sitch.
No way.
I don't know what I would do, mind you.
But I would NOT get in the car.

This is what I have always taught women, but I have recently come across a few who didn't believe me. And then it was the topic on a show today so I thought I'd see what everyone here would do.

You are in a much worse situation if you let the bad guy take you a secondary location. Fight at the first location.

do not get in the car (good answer to those who said it) - run and scream as loudly as you can - this is a good time for drama make a big big scene if you can

- if you can run - drop or throw anything you might be carrying - toss off high heels and RUN if you can seek cover to avoid gunshot - it is much much harder to hit a moving target, especially one that is partially covered - by trees or other cars, houses, buildings for example.

do a quick mental check (women at all times when out alone) of what common objects you have in your possession that is a potential weapon - car keys, garden rake, purse, coffee cup & the coffee if hot - it can blind - all of the above common objects could hurt or maim if used as a weapon

take a self defense class - learn to go for the eyes & the throat and MEAN IT

of course avoiding isolated areas is key also. I am really proud of how many gals on here said not to get in the car

Is it a gun or a knife?

There's no way I would simply just get in the car, immediately after being threatened. But if its a gun, and I believe there is a chance they would actually use it, then depending on how the conversation goes there is a chance they could convince me that getting in the car is in my best interest. If a fatal injury on the spot is very likely, I will be open to other options.

But if its a knife, its less likely. How many are there? Are they cool, confident, focused? Or agitated, stressed? Did they pick me in particular? Can I cause them to doubt whether its worth their while?

Okay, so this leads me to another question for the men.

Guys, would you be offended if a woman took an evasive action around you? For example: it's after hours in a building so no one is really around. You are on the elevator and it stops at her floor. When the door opens she decides she will wait for the next elevator rather than ride down with just you. Are you offended or do you understand where she is coming from?
