I have a cell phone but only because I travel alot alone and my kids insist that I call home..lol Seriously, I have almost been hit many times by people dialing or texting while driving.. I pull over if I have to answer my phone while on the road... Kids, gkids and I are all on same line so we can keep in touch.. And my phone is a cheap one..

Okay, imagine a solar flare knocks out all the satellites but just the ones for cell phones.

How would that change your life?

I just add it to the other stuff I hoard. I got the stack of computers boxes in one corner. Then there are the old cell phones in one dresser drawer. I was thinking of tiling the walls with old motherboards.

I may be in the dark ages where it comes to cell phones.

I don't have one.

The first time I saw one in a movie, only rich drug king pins could afford such things. I wanted one in the worst way.

Now I cringe when I see trailer park welfare mom's in swets not only have them, all of her children also have them.

Everyone thinks they have to have a cell phone. frustrated

And mom's have to have their children have them so they can keep track of their children at all times.

Even children without cell phones that are way too young for them have play cell phones just to prepare them for the real thing.

Just shoot me I'm old. frustrated frustrated

I don't have one either..I can never fathom why people visit you, then sit there and talk or text away on this visit..Pointless..

It would not change one iota. I only have a cell to have in the car when I travel.

I have a VERY basic cell phone - it's just a phone. I've used cell phones for 10 years now. It's very practical for me; and they've been very practical for people who lost their land line service in the aftermath of last week's freak snowstorm here in CT.

Last time I got one replaced, I said, "I'm looking for the most basic cell phone you have. I don't need one that takes pictures, sings, dances, ring doorbells in other countries......I think you know what I mean." They laughed, and were very accomodating. I also had the texting disabled - I don't do texting.

You now do have to be very careful, though, about who gets your cell phone number. You can go online for free now, and if you have the number, you can find out where the phone's service is based down to the nearest cell tower.

Have one...but it would not change my life or upset me if a solar flare knocked out all sattelites for just cell phones ....because am not dependent on it....can live without a cell...but cannot live without hot water for shower or my morning coffee...

That does not always work because the battery runs down after a while.

Yep I've been there. I used to have one but I shut if off.

That's good. A plain simple phone. I never did texting either.

If you can't find the phone, you can't charge it.

I lost my phone, and did not find it and the battery ran down. I only used it occasionally when I was away from home.

I have an iPhone and I love it. I text more than I talk on the phone. I use it to check email, surf the internet, GPS and games. I do understand that people don't like texting and talking on the phone during dates and things like that, which is completely understandable, but just because some people are rude, it doesn't mean cell phones are evil.

Cell phones are not evil:they have many advantages and disadvantages...they only became evil because of those who have misused or abused it....but we all have to pay for those people who can't seem to think before they do anything

Many things can become evil if someone misuses or abuses them.

If someone is being rude on their cell phone near you, speak up. Let them know that it's bothering you. Or walk away. Yes, those people can be annoying, but we don't always have to deal with them.

it's got nothing to do with rudeness...that can easily be resolved without any argument...
