This is in my profile:
I don't reply to nudges from strangers and I don't want to hear from Yahoo scammers Since my profile is only a few lines long now (my 1400-page profile is being retooled for future re-release), anybody who looks at it should see this almost immediately. Every day, I get nudges from strangers. Every freaking day. I don't nudge them back. I don't write to them. I do look at their profiles. Some of them are immediately identifiable as scammers, so I report them, and their accounts are nuked instantaneously. Some of them send more nudges. Some of them seem reluctant to give up. Not a one has ever been within actual meeting distance, and not a one is someone I would really consider ever getting involved with. And I know they saw my profile because they always turn up in Who Viewed Me, and they had to go to my profile to send the nudge in the first place. So, it appears people really have problems with following simple instructions.... |

It is an impatient world. I think folks just look at the photos, see where you live and check out if you smoke, drink or not. After that, they move on mostly. If they poke, nudge or whaterever it is their way of saying here I am.
I put in my profile..."And if you plan on sending me a nudge, please follow up with an email, I will not respond to nudges without follow up email. After a while my tush gets sore from all the swift kicks, and my ribs are cracked from all the pokes. And I swear by all that's holy I wont kiss or hug a stranger." Nudges, pokes and hugs and not one danged email from anyone of the nudgers and pokers.  Lex, you shortened your profile? What is this world comming to?

People just don't read. My headline says "stop nudging, start talking" and the very first line of my profile says "If you'd like to chat, please send a message rather than nudging." And yet, somehow, I still get nudges all the time.

I used to think everyone at least checked out where someone was from. However, I got an email the other night asking where I lived. I replied and told him the location was right above the email he was reading. |

I guess everybody has their own way of just trying to be friendly.

I get nudges from strangers all the time; some times I nudge back and some I just delete if they keep doing it repeatedly. It gets old after a while.

I don't even look at the nudge list anymore. If someone can't put the effort into sending me a message, why should I respond?

I listed on mine that if you come from Nigeria I don't want to hear from you, but at least three times a week I get nudges or emails asking "you r cute be mi friend?"

guess im lucky don't know but i don't get them anymore unless they already my friends other then that i don't get strange nudges

Frankly, it hasn't produced the results I had hoped for. My next profile is probably going to be the Burger King menu. |

At least then there's some frame of reference. But most of my nudgers have screen names like "EnormoBoobs6969" and their profiles are not exactly literary marvels. |

I agree with you Lex, I find it terribly annoying to use a nudge as a first contact. I mean in person would you really blow a kiss, or hug someone you were interested in . I would hope not. I just delete them. I mean it doesn't really take that much effort to send an email saying "Hi, your profile sounds good, I would like to get to know you."
