Topic: What's the scariest movie you've ever seen? | |

I don't like sick movies like that. Hannibal Lector was quite pleasant for a monster. I found his calmly eating the brain of a sicko serial killer .. while the killer was still alive tied to his dinning room table to be quite horrifying. |

"Silence of the Lambs". Hannibal the cannibal, and Billy were horrifying! i love that movie it never bothered me at all When Hannibal the cannibal, was beating that prison guard, with his billy club, till he was nothing but a bloody pulp. And he was, listening to classical music, and enjoying every bit of it, when he did it. Then he peels off the guards face, and puts it on his, so they think HE'S the guard, to escape. And when he spoke, about the people, he had eaten. And Billy, the freak who wanted to be a woman, so he kidnapped large size woman, and stuck them in a deep hole, he had dug, in his basement, and starved them to death, so he could skin them, for the "skin suit" he was making. His "woman skin suit". You didnt find that horrifying? Buffalo Bill was inspired by real life killer Ed Gein(who was also the inspiration for Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Deranged...), and other real life serial killers were used to flesh him out...Buffalo Bill wearing a cast on his arm and needing help was inspired by Ted Bundy. I think the worse serial killers were, Henry Lee Lucas, and Ottis OToole. When they described how they had murdered entire families, ect...it was horrifying to listen to. And of course we cant forget John Wayne Gacy, the party clown for kids........NOT. Jeffrey Lee Dommer, was pretty horrific too. Ted Bundy, The GreenRiver killer, and the list goes on and on. Wanna hear something REALLY SCARY AND TRUE. We have in our wonderful world, "Recreational Serial Killers". They work from 9-5, Monday-Friday, and on the weekends, they kill people. I study them, so I know how NOT to be one of their victims, by getting inside of their minds. The scariest thing are the ones that are like everyone else- I read The Stranger Beside Me...Ann Rule who wrote it was friends with him, worked with him, not knowing what he did. Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer(inspired by Henry Lee Lucas), and Angst(inspired by Austrian killer Werner Kniesek) are both very disturbing movies. |

The Hellraiser movies, with pinhead and his cenebite buddies, comes to mind as probably one of the scariest I've seen I also have the entire "Saw" series....love the story line in that. Have you ever seen "Night Breed" by Clive Barker? Clive Barker was very vocal on his opinion of the newest Hellraiser film...I think it's easy to say he wasn't a fan. |

The original Black Christmas still creeps me out...not knowing who Billy is or why he did what he did, and those creepy phone calls he made to the sorority sisters.
Of course the remake threw all that out the window, explained everything away. |

The Exorcist when I was 13 on a huge screen in a proper old style flea pit cinema. Had to go down an alley afterwards that looked so much like the one in the film I reckon I broke the 100 mtr record. Since then I find all scary / horror movies quite comical.

I just did a whole thread on "Serial Killers" for Halloween. Thats funny you bring up Henry Lee Lucas & dont forget, Ottis Toole, his partner in crime. Henry is the serial killer I find most heartbreaking,(I tell all about his growing up in my "Serial Killer" thread), and the most interesting of all killers. He has also confessed, to the killing of, more people than any other serial killer. 600 victims over the span of many years. |

Have you ever seen "Night Breed" by Clive Barker? Clive Barker was very vocal on his opinion of the newest Hellraiser film...I think it's easy to say he wasn't a fan. But you still didnt answer my question...Have you seen Clive Barkers, "Nightbreed"?...if not, you must, it is his best movie ever. The movie is about a whole civilization of people that live underground called the "Nightbreed". They are all what we in this world would call freaks, so they stay underground to not be discovered. Some have multiple body parts, one child will die if daylight hits her, some can fly, ect... As one of the characters in "Nightbreed" a woman, states that, "We are the nightbreed. We are outcasts from civilization, because we are different, and would be treated badly in the real world above ground. What is ironic, is that we are the things that normal people dream of. Some dream of flying, some of us can fly, some wish they had more body parts, some of us do....ect....yet we are still outcast". A young man finds the entrance to their underground home, and enters it. IT IS A GREAT MOVIE! I cant find it anywhere on DVD, not even online! |

I have seen Nightbreed, saw it in the theater when it was released. I also remember when Nightbreed was coming out Fangoria had fold-out(like Playboy centerfolds) of various Nightbreed characters. It's available on Amazon- http://www.amazon.com/Nightbreed-Craig-Sheffer/dp/B00005JIVJ/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1320082423&sr=1-1 Fans have a petition going to get the original 145 minute cut released on DVD. I also liked Clive Barker's Lord Of Illusions. |

I found his calmly eating the brain of a sicko serial killer .. while the killer was still alive tied to his dinning room table to be quite horrifying. I think you the character confused in that scene, Ray Liotta (who played the dinner "guest") was a senior member of the Bureau that Clarice Starling worked for. Since Ray Liotta usually plays psychos, it is easy to forget when he first started out he was usually cast as a cop. |
