Do you stereotype people on dating sites? Do you assume only certain kinds of people would use sites like these? After being a part of this site for a few years, I can see that all kinds of different people from all over the place use sites like these. However, not everyone sees it that way. So, I'm curious about the stereotypes people have and why. No, I don't think there are any certain types that use these dating sites which I think keeps things interesting.

I started out here to maybe meet someone special. However, I HAVE met MANY special ppl I call friends from ALL over! No love, no sex, just friends! And that works for me!

I was told by a guy on another dating site that only whores got on dating sites!!!!!! Told me that is why it is called the intwhorenet!!!!! Jerk! I don't think people come in here expecting the family atmosphere...I was pleasantly surprised. A guy told me once that only desperate women are on these sites. He informed me of this after I had said I wasn't interest in meeting, because he couldn't understand me turning down a man since I must be desperate. haha. You should of asked him... If that is your thinking... then what does that make him for being on that type of site ? Oh...Oh...OH...I know!!!!! lol

I used to, but things have changed alot over the last decade. It is considered more "acceptable" to use online dating sites. Whatever works!

Luckily, not all men think the same way as the guy I was chatting with. There are definitely men out there who like the bigger girls, which is good for me, as I'm certainly not skinny either.

Interesting, fun and funny, charming, angry, happy, mean, nice. Dating sites are a great way to socialize, especially those offering forums. Forums provide an opportunity to express ourselves! I am often amazed by some of the stereotypes that people still hang onto site users. Maybe it is some of the threads who knows. I do get tired of being labled. I don't mind answering for the lables that apply but would be nice if the assumptions just made an *** out of the ones applying them and not knock me out of the running for some of the nice guys who seem to drift through and keep moving. My one hope is that what seems to be proving true is the people who do end up in long term relationships and marriages is they do like picking their own destiny and point out that chatting on line does seem to be a common link either in intoduction or getting to know each other past a superficial contact. Keeping romance out of the work place or family relationships seems to be a common explanation. Definitely why I rather date from people on line.
