Just kidding, cults are bad...well most of 'em anyway. The biggest thing is to be involved, for example social sites like this one. Actually, if you are shy about talking to people, a great club to join to get over a fear of socializing is Toast Masters. They basically get together and work on public speaking. Not only is it a great way to meet people, but the club activities help to break that shyness that acts as a barrier to socialization.

Me, I just like to see how many people share my odd sense of humor, hehe

Odd senses of humor we have a lot of here, it is great. I agree with everyone, just jump in and before you know it you will have lots of friends that are from all different walks of life and personalities. Fun Fun Fun.

It's hard meeting new people. I just got out of a 6.5 year relationship and realized what little friends I have. It is definitely a lonely feeling. However, I do a little one here w/me a lot of the time so anyone w/a 3.5 yr old knows you don't get much privacy. lol. I agree w/the others to post more and even if you only make a few online friends, sometimes it gives you something to look forward to. Good luck to you!
