My grandmother dipped snuff played, penny poker,we lived in a 3 bedroom trailer but one room was reserved for her sewing and keeping baby chicks warm. One was my moms room when she was home(maybe twice a month) so me my brothers and my granny all shared the back room. She owned one charge card from sears and would use it to buy christmas and spend the next year paying it off. Sounds like a good woman to me Penny. You got lucky woman. |

Where do I begin?
When my dad came to visit me here in LA with his new wife I took them to a hot spot in downtown for happy hours. We got him drunk on martinis and he said this was his very first nightclub experience in his life. He is 73. I may have to add more as we go along. |

Weird families huh. Geeze where to start. Well dad is a linguist who spoke 12 different languages and got sent to Europe instead of nam since he spoke russian. Mom was also in the army when they met and parachuted out of helicopters. They both say they werent hippies just slightly bohemian. Mom was pregos with my eldest bro whom was born in Indiana when they met they been married for the last 40 sum years. They met fell in love and were married in less than 17 days.
Jon we call him hawkeye has 4 kids one good eye and does sound engineering for bands and mechanic work on 4x4s in his off time. Chris is or as we call him stopher is a giant of a man but a gentle giant and a decent artist whom enjoys roleplaying games and depeche mode. He has a daughter Freya. Matt whom we call cubby cause of his middle name Jacob is an artist and framer who lives with his wife and 2 kids in wupertal germany. Doing airbrush work and carpentry. Ben whom goes by benny Bones we call benny joe bob to get on his nerves is a tattooist whom makes house calls and is about as weird as one person should ever be in their lifetime. Thank god he never spread his seed. Chris Matt and Ben were all born in berlin. Ellen whom goes by elf was born in California. Is a mother of three married to a person who listens to train sounds when he drives and is studying to be a large animal vet. My version of hell would be to be reincarnated as one of her pets. I'm next in line yep number six. The black sheep. Why you may ask Cause I'm the only one whos effing normal! Parents named me after the last pope since i was born nine months after a speech about birth control being evil. A have a son whom is a spitting image of me. My only little brother Dave is a 6 time felon with a serious drug problem. He coulda been a model and had done some modeling but got to caught up in drugs and thug life to do anything with himself. Thank god he has no kids either. Dave and I were both born in Ft Lauderdale florida. Miriam was born here in Pa is a decent artist and is in collage to be a teacher I think. She is 20 years younger than my oldest bro and was treated like a grandchild considering she was born after my parents first grandchild. |

One small tidbit..... My parents divorced while I was in college and my Dad soon after married his best friend's (our old next door neighbor and close friend of the family) wife. The best friend soon married my now Step-Bro's boss (at the time and who also has the same name as my now Step-Mom/his ex-wife). After that, my Mom married my Dad's now ex-best friends other best friend. Got it? If not, keep watching Jerry Springer. Sooner or later it's bound to be on there.

 My dad "SANTA" and his "sleigh" (which may be weird But i'm proud of him)  My parents as Santa and Mrs. my son as a baby  My son thinking he's Donald trump OR  The Easter Bunny. Noone wonder I'm so weird!

My family is rank with abuse. I live in another state. You can love your family, and stay away from them at the same time...small doses. It taught me quite a lot, and my son benefits from these lessons. Im sure he could teach me some junk as well, but he will know he is loved and welcome always. Aww that is sweet. |

Hmmmmm I think we are normal.
My family where originally convicts, My great grandfather was a shearer my grandfather a farmer, My dad was a farmer then a truck driver and we lived way out in the bush, I can shear a sheep, run a Shearing shed ,drive a truck, tractor and ost other things , I can run a farm and survive without any help from the modern world if needed, but I hate mi But it was not acceptable for a woman to work once she was married, without it was beside her hubby as a helper and my grandfather repeatedly told me that if a women is good enough to sleep with she is good enough to marry. Honesty was the most important thing as my Grandfather always said you can watch a thief but you dont see a liar coming.Family was everything and we rarely had anyone else but family near us. I had never heard of people getting divorced until I was in highschool and it was not acceptable in our family.. Thankfully my Grandfather died before i had been divorced for the 3rd time..He threatened to kill my first husband after he asked for a divorce and was put up on assault charges at 80 odd , he was a hard man but also very soft to me.. I grew up with love and acceptance, I could not have ever asked for more, as it has always given me the strength to walk through whatever hapenes, knowing that I am still loved just as I am.. so I guess my family was a little bit old fashioned. But totally awesome. |

I spent a lot of time with my grandmother when I was young also she would take me to the big boardwalk hotels in Atlantic City and we would try to pick out the Miss America contestants from the crowd (we usually went at the time of the pageant) - I think that' s when I became interested in fashions |

My family would happily accept the fact that I can kicker thier butts on Rock Band/ Guitar Hero....I get them drunk enough to think that they compete. my nieces and I sang to WII music together - we were fabulous of course |

a lot of my family stuff about why my family is strange is too personal to share... but i will tell about my cousin... she lives in a small town and went to a bar one night. She ended up getting PLASTERED (as usual with that branch of the family). When she left, she stepped off the curb, landed wrong and ended up breaking her ankle. instead of going back in to the bar for help, she just decided to ROLL HOME! of course had I seen it, I'd have offerred some assistance .... and given her a few pushes on the uphill

My great grandfather was a dentist & a farmer also. During the depression in America in the 1930s he lost his farm, but the home stayed in the family for another generation. I finally got to see it a few years ago for the first time. |
