Topic: Being Late | |
---|---|
Aside from being late to work once in a while, I am usually on time, if not early. And, if I am going to be late I call to say so. It's just good manners.

If I make it to work before the boss, I'm not late. |

But, if I don't go to bed now I'm gonna be late for work in the morning. Again. |

Time and I have a loose nodding acquaintance, and rarely do we appear in the room at the same time...my boss is pleased if I arrive fully clothed with shoes on...so I guess I am blessed that way..

Not the Aussies I've worked with. They were all on time for meetings and stuff like that. |

I am always a half hour to an hour early because I allow time for traffic mishaps and other goodies.

Time and I have a loose nodding acquaintance, and rarely do we appear in the room at the same time...my boss is pleased if I arrive fully clothed with shoes on...so I guess I am blessed that way.. hahahaha Is that a tough standard for Aussies? I suspect it is common to where I live....we are in a tiny laid back village where everyone knows everyone.... time....blech!!! stoopid man made ridiculousness...just this week alone I was two days late for work...got myself and Stephen marooned on a deserted island through big seas and high winds for a week...was supposed to be for 3 days.. ...funny as!....and my boss merely shrugged, rolled his eyes and laughed at my sunburnt nose and bits of seaweed stuck in my hair when I walked into work to see if I still had a job. I may be constantly late....but I work when at work....and often clock up hours of unpaid over-time...you work when you get there, and you play when you aren't....simple philosophy...and works for me. |

Castaways!
With seaweed still in your hair when you show up to work! This just cracks me up :-) According to singmesweet, it is only you.. This is as it should be :-) |

I really only have experience with the ones I've worked with. So, I can't comment on how any other Aussies are.

to things? Is this the national past time?! I can't say a I know anyone personally that can get anywhere ON time, much less ahead of time. Pet peeve of the day... OH my MAJOR Pet PEEVE, I could not agree more..I have friends like this. Its terrible. Esp, cuz i am a mother and often have to hrie a sitter w pay(obviously) for a SET time-- Its a total waste for me when people arent courteous to show up on time if not beat me there. |

5-10-15 minutes, I can usually understand, unless the person is consistently this way. 20 minutes or more, and it usually sees me walking out. I really have no patience for it, especially with people who seem to continuously live that way. Set the clock early, and be there. I don't buy the excuse that people are just "sooo busy" they lose track of time.
What brought my question up was that I was at a wedding Saturday. It was 45 minutes late getting started. If it wasn't for the fact that there was all of 20 people there, I'd have left my card with another friend who was there and headed out. Everyone was there, they were just dinking around. And they fully admitted it. I wasn't amused. |

Like weddings aren't horrid enough on their own.
You should have arrived on an equine quadra-ped who was in imminent danger of..dropping one. |
