As I look into the mirror today.
I see you and must look away.
For you see.
I see you looking back at me.
I see those brown eyes.
That cries.
Your hair that is brown.
At times it makes me feel down.
When someone you love dies.
It makes the tears come to your eyes.
When it was someone you never got to know.
It makes you wonder how this could be so.
Did I do something wrong.
Or did it happen to make me strong?
It just doesn’t seem right.
As I sit here and write.
Why did this have to be?
You I never got to see.
All I have are the pictures of the past.
The stories about how you had passed.
It does not seem fair.
To have this burden I must bare.
Why could it not be?
You could be here for me.
Help me understand my fears.
Be there to wipe away my tears.
As I look into the past.
All I have are my memories that last.
As I look in the mirror and see.
You are looking back at me.

Aug 21 will be 6 years i lost my mother seems like it was just yesterday. she is watching over me and her 3 grandchildren, can still watch them grow. She is carrying us in love until we meet again in Heaven..

Thank you all very much for your kind words. Yes it is very hard at times when you lose a loved one. For myself it will be 47 years this Dec since my mother passed away. Yes I was only a baby at the time 15 months old. Therefore my memories were from others and pictures only. But... I had a very special lady in my life my grandmother my mom's mom. Through her I learned many things. Our memories we should cherish with all our hearts. When they are no longer with us it makes our hearts sad wishing they were here. But... if one thinks about the memories that you have and the memories that will last a lifetime. Think how lucky you really are to have those memories for some will never have those memories of there own. Memories are a wonderful thing to have and to look back into the past with. My memories I have of my grandmother are Awesome and always brings a smile to my face these memories are the ones I rely on.

pkh it is actually harder on the ones that got to know there parents then lost them at an early age. My grandmother was a very big influence in my life and she was 92 when she passed away. So i had many years to enjoy her and her wisdom.
